4 of us went last night with a reservation. It was raining and as soon as we walked in the hostess offered to hang our coats and we could leave our umbrellas in the vestibule without worrying. They asked if we were celebrating anything and we were there for a friend's birthday so as soon as we sat, the hostess brought over a little gift bag with a candle in it for her and it was very cute. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Ryan. The atmosphere of the place was beautiful. Decorated beautifully, especially during the holiday season it looked breath taking in whites, blues and silver tones. They offer tap, still, or sparkling water to start. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu and our server, Ryan explained what each item on the menu was to those who weren't familiar and listed off a few of his favorites which was very helpful. We ended up starting with the Tuna Tartare and the Grilled Calamari. Both were very tasty, my favorite was the Tuna Tartare though. Not too long after, our main entrees were brought out along with the sharable sides: Short Rib, Hapuku, Filet, NY Strip, as well as Lobster Mac & Cheese with Truffle Fries. Everything was plated very nicely and tasted really great, with the steaks cooked to preference. I really liked the truffle fries and the mac & cheese although the mac & cheese tasted more like a white pasta dish. The zip sauce with the filet was fantastic and the risotto that came with both the calamari and the hapuku were perfect. We also ordered the Ledger Cake for dessert. It came with a creme anglaise that was poured over it at the table and tasted amazing! Since we were celebrating a birthday, they also brought out these two cute little cones filled with the same hazelnut mousse that was in the cake and was just as great. Overall, we liked everything on the menu and the experience being there brought us. I'd like to add that their bathrooms are pretty cool too and kept very clean. Would definitely try this place again especially to try all the other items we didn't...
Read moreI unfortunately have to agree with other low-star reviews: the food is NOT worth the price.
The staff and environment are wonderful, and the drinks were pretty tasty (LOVED the 'Suffering Bastard'!). Thank you to bartenders Matthew and Connor (there was a third man whose name I cannot remember, dinner 5/17, what a great trio!). Our food runner was pleasant and we didn't have to wait long for anything.
But the food was exceptionally eh. One of the most 'mid' places we've spent THIS much money on.
Our beef tallow with focaccia starter was the highlight. Absolutely delicious. Could've filled up on it and maybe should've.
I had the duck wings (good texture, but so SPICY! wish I could have actually tasted more. the warm towels were a thoughtful touch). My partner had the filet mignon med. rare (chewy, we think poorly sous vide and then added grill marks. no love, so glad we didn't splurge on the wagyu). Good zip sauce though. Pommes alligot as noted by others was rather bland, and I will advise should be eaten RIGHT AWAY, or it gets mad gummy. Honey glazed carrots were undercooked, but would've be okay if not for the smear of ricotta-type cheese that bitterly cut all over what should be that sweet caramelized carrot taste- NOT a good pairing, and for $18 a side, disappointing to send back most of the contents of these plates without much concern from servers or the manager chatting with the couple next to us.
To summarize; good drinks, good service, truly mediocre food. Most all of the plates lacked the depth of flavor and attention you would expect for this level of dining. NOT worth the price, NOT worth the-most-we've-ever-paid-to-go-out-to-dinner (nearly $300 for two!!!) and overall kinda disappointing. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that they shine with other dishes (they certainly do with their cocktails!), but bummed we drove all the way out here and wishing we had read more reviews...
Read moreI recently celebrated a very special birthday at The Ledger in Plymouth, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. This wasn’t just a dinner, it was a celebration of the beautiful flowers in my garden of life, and The Ledger provided the perfect setting for such a meaningful evening.
I reserved private dining in The Boardroom, an elegant and intimate space that made the evening feel incredibly personal. Each of my beautiful guests entered through the stunning mirror door, stepping into a space that felt magical, like a hidden gem prepared just for us. It set the tone for an evening filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.
A heartfelt thank you to Maya, the Assistant General Manager, who orchestrated everything to perfection. Her grace, attentiveness, and warm energy made the entire evening feel effortless and seamless. She even arranged our reservations at the speakeasy downstairs, The Ebenezer, for after-dinner cocktails;a perfect way to end the night on a stylish, elevated note. I have immense appreciation how she cared deeply about creating a special experience, and she delivered that and more.
Our server, Ryan, was just as wonderful. He treated each of us with care and attentiveness, ensuring every need was met without ever feeling rushed or interrupted. His kindness and professionalism added so much to the evening.
And the food was absolutely divine. Every course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. The drinks were equally unique and top tier. The chef is a visionary and a gift! The kitchen and bar are amazingly talented and obviously take great pride in their craft.
This wasn’t just a dinner it was a moment in time I’ll treasure forever. The Ledger gave me the space to celebrate life, friendship, and growth in the most beautiful way. I’m so thankful, and I can’t...
