I visited the Goodwill store in Pooler, GA, on January 1, 2025, at 7 PM, and I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I was in town looking for a temporary item and ended up spending $70. However, just 10 minutes later, after thinking it over, I decided I didn't want the product anymore and returned it.
To my surprise, instead of refunding my credit card, they only issued me a gift card. I feel that this is unacceptable. I just wanted my money back for something I no longer wanted. It's frustrating to think that Goodwill, an organization that receives our donations, would choose to keep my money in this manner.
It feels like a robbery, and I can't believe they would rather issue a gift card than return my funds. I expected better from Goodwill, and this experience has left me very disappointed. It's a shame that they charge for items when they benefit from our donations. I will think twice before shopping here again.
I spoke with a lady who was holding a TV scanner on wheels, and she mentioned it was a little damaged but priced at $29. She pointed out that a brand new one would only cost $39 at Target or Amazon, which made the pricing seem unreasonable.
I had already ordered a new one, but it raised a question for me. Why is Goodwill, an organization that receives donations, charging such high prices for damaged items? It feels like a disservice to the community that once relied on Goodwill for affordable goods. I remember when the purpose was to help those in need, not to profit excessively. It seems like the focus has shifted towards greed.
I hope Goodwill can reconsider its pricing strategy and return to its roots of supporting those who...
Read moreVery nice, Goodwill. It's well organized for sure, I'd say. Some prices are fair. However, many others are ridiculously priced. Beautiful store. I've been recently frequenting this Pooler area Goodwill, and there's a chair that was for an office and / or gamer. It was at 1st $200, then went to $100, and last week from today, March 28th, Wednesday, I last saw it marked down to $60. Goodwill was believed to be a place where you could get items that were donated for very affordable prices. If you were poor, on a budget, and even looking for a better deal, then Goodwill was for you. Now they have these gadgets, of which the name currently fails me, that they scan incoming items to see if they are high-end and valuable, and then they price them like so. And so because they are no longer really Goodwill for the people who need affordable pricing, (my opinion concerning some things that are just insanely priced in the last 10 years and even higher today) we find ourselves paying more than .50 cents to $1.00 for some blue 3 inch glass butterfly that's a collectors item that most don't even care about. These chairs were actually $4.99 each. Great condition. Very sturdy. They had 2. I find it crazy how this was just 5 bucks. Great price, by the way, but they'll charge you an arm and a leg for used everything else for ridiculous prices. Ok... off my soap box for overpriced donations. Over &...
Read moreI love this goodwill has great nfl team gear of my fav team! I’m writing this today because of what I was witnessed in store today. This employee I believe her name is Fatima brought out a rack of T shirts or something onto the floor. This one customer picked up one the shirts and she was looking at the rest when this gentleman came up to her and started saying “this is mine” and took all the ones off the rack and then proceeded to TRY AND TAKE IT out of this poor woman’s hand. I tried to help but he wouldn’t stop trying to physically remove it from this woman customers hands. When I got the employee all she said was “oh it’s fine there’s more in the back” which flabbergasted me since it was not the point. The point of the matter is this man was borderline putting his hands on her and this employee Fatima didn’t seemed bothered. THEN I overheard an employee talking to the female customer and she said that it was Fatima’s HUSBAND!! Apparently she calls her husband frequently to pull this. From my understanding this is not allowed yet it seems like this is a known thing with management who seems to have their hands tied that they can’t do anything. She needs to be written up or better yet FIRED. Unacceptable behavior of an employee...
