WoodSpring Suites Savannah Pooler — Hotel in Pooler

Infested with roaches !!! Save yourself the headache and used your money for a better quality of extended stay hotels in the area. My husband and I relocated to this area for work. We knew prior to our arrival, we had about 3 weeks until our new home was ready for us to move in. So we looked online and researched different hotels to suit our family needs temporarily.

We packed literally the bare minimum, and drove to Pooler, Georgia. We are very clean and tidy people. So when I tell we were disgusted, that’s an understatement.

We stayed a total of 13 nights at the WoodSpring In Pooler room 320. With hopes each day it would get better and even reported our concerns to the Front Desk Personnel who don’t normally arrive until after 9am closer to 10am.

The location was the perfect for our commute to work but what is not mentioned in the posted reviews is the roach problem, the poor customer service (Cynthia at the front desk I’ll discuss later) it’s supposed to be a non smoking hotel (that’s a joke) guest are smoking inside and outside, many guest meet up in the parking lot drinking and partying, broken down cars in the front of the establishment, entry/exit doors left broken and unsecured covered in caution tape and the laundry room was for lack of better words “poorly maintained” some washers filled with black water and a horrendous smell oozing from the open machine labeled “out of order.”

We’ve never stayed at any kind of extended stay hotel before, so it was to our surprised basic hotel amenities weren’t inside the room. You have to bring your own everything, literally. You also had to change you’re own sheets (which honestly we preferred) unfortunately that was only during certain times of the day if no written signs weren’t posted which read “no laundry exchange today.” We even washed our own towels. No one clean our room for 13 days, I believe the front desk advised you can pay extra for more frequent cleanings or housekeeping would show up after 3 weeks.

After our initial complaint about the roach infestation, instead of being offered a different room. The front desk said causally “we will send pest control” and a few hours laters a man who identified himself as maintenance entered and sprayed pesticide.

I kid you not whatever he sprayed in our room, attracted bigger and more roaches. At that point we’ve had enough and my husband spoke to Cynthia at the front desk who advised our only option was to leave and if they moved us it would spread the roach problem.

Concern I called the hotel, in hopes to speak with Cynthia and find out instead of addressing the issues we brought up she suggested we leave because according to her that’s the best they have to offer.

I did advised Cynthia we did not have a problem in our previous home with roaches, we only relocated to this area for work and haven’t seen them until into we checked into their hotel.

Cynthia nonchalantly told us that was our only option take it or leave. So I advised her we would not be renewing our weekly stay. Cynthia advised we needed to be out by 11am. Then watch and laughed as we pack our vehicles in the rain. She and other employees exited the building just to mock us telling others, which we overheard them jokingly saying that’s room 320, they been complaining about the hotel, as if it we were some spectacle to watch.

Concern with our guest experience, I reached out to corporate. As of four days ago, no one from the hotel has reached out to address our concerns. I pray this comes as a warning to anyone looking to stay at WoodSpring in Pooler.

I travel for work and have seen a lot of hotels and this place is amazing. It's the best you'll find in terms of an extended-stay, economical hotel. I'm not affiliated with WoodSpring Suites and am not being paid to post this. As a matter of fact, check out my review of the WoodSpring Suites hotel about two hours south of Pooler in Jacksonville (at 95 and 295). Now Christopher, THAT place was a manure hole.

This place is immaculate and it's on a side-street with very little traffic, but you're within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Very nice neighborhood with a retirement home next store, and green space across the street (although there is a "sold" sign in the green space, so that may be a future Walmart, but that's life.)

No, you don't get a coffee maker, but they just installed a coffee machine in the lobby the day I checked in (although it wasn't up and running yet). And you do get basic wifi for free, or if you're going to stream they offer faster service for $5/week.

Kitchen and bath counters were gorgeous, solid-surface with stainless in the kitchen. Shower surround was sparkling and clean. The shower-head is 7-feet high, so if you're tall like me, no need to bend over to shower! This is the cleanest/nicest extended-stay hotel I've ever stayed at. Previous to this one, the best one I'd stayed at was the WoodSpring Suites in Everett, WA. There's a fitness center, and the room came with a 40-inch, HD, flat-screen TV and its signal was HD as well. It had MSNBC, CNN, FOXNews, three or four ESPNS, FS1, Discovery, A&E, HGTV, lots of others, and 2 premium movie channels, but no C-SPAN channels.

Even the parking lot and landscaping is immaculate. They have a few parking spaces that are actually lined with brick pavers for added aesthetics -- have never seen that before.

The only complaints I have (and these are minor) is that they didn't go with the extra-high toilets. They aren't the super-short ones either, but something in-between. My only other complaint is that they chose to put the vending machines in the same room as the washers/dryers. You need a card-key to gain access, but I'd prefer the machines be out by the elevators so that you have less foot-traffic in the laundry area, and less chance of enticing someone to peek into one of the dryers to see if there's anything good (to take).

Easily 5 out of 5 stars. The ownership group should be proud of this one. They didn't spare any expense. I've also stayed at the Garden City WoodSpring Suites, and it was "okay" and in more of an urban area, but this is head and shoulders above that location. I'd drive the additional 4 or 5 miles from Savannah to stay here. ...

My job transferred me to Pooler, Georgia for a new position training. I moved into Woodsprings Suites on Sunday, October 11th, 2022. At that time I registered using my bank card. Doing my stay at Woodspring I used "FOUR" different bank cards. Without my knowledge, "Symphony" saved all of my bank card numbers. Without delay, every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. I went down to the office and paid for my room. At this time I never signed any authorizations for Woodsprings Suites to "DEBIT my bank cards. I "VERBALLY," told "Symphony" "NOT" to automatically bill my bank cards, since I pay on time every Monday. Without my permission, on several occasions "Symphony" deliberately billed "VARIOUS" bank cards I have on file with Woodsprings Suites. Sometimes it's two banks cards being billed within one week. During my last week of stay, I went down to pay the so-called weekly rate, and "SYMPHONY" told me she had locked me out of my room and I would not be ALLOWED back into the room unless I sign giving her permission to AUTOMATICALLY bill my bank cards.

Originally I had a contract until July 2022 for $42.00 dollars a day. For a "FEW" residents, within sixty days the rate went up to sixty dollars a day. Symphony originally told me that I would receive a refund for the overpayment. And, she stated since "I have been at Woodsprings Suits for six months my weekly rent would be $290.00 a week including taxes. However, I never received any refund, only increases. The rent increased to $425.00 for me. No one is paying the same weekly rate, and adult guests, animals, and room-sized do not matter in room rates. I never receive the full tax benefit. She is also charging different weekly rates for residents who smoke or sell Marijuana to her. Some couples with two beds and two dogs pay less than $308, but those are the people who smoke marijuana on the premises. For OVER SIX WEEKS I have tried to reach the CORPORATE OFFICE to report the illegal activities such as multiple PIT BULLS running around the premises without a leash. I only received "ONE" room service in SIX Months, and the housekeeper "TOOK" all my WALMARTS towels and the motel could only locate three towels. Due to the broken contract, I have to drive 53 miles to work and 53 miles from work. SMH!

In addition, Symphony and her boyfriend have "Fist Fights" in the room, and as a result, the boyfriend was jailed. Also, she smokes "MARIJUANA" with residents. She broke the lock off her room window so she can blow marijuana smoke out the window. She also has lite candles in her room window. Symphony needs "DRUG TESTING." There is always marijuana coming from under her door. She is stealing off residents' bank cards. And you will see, she...
