This oriental market (not managed by people of oriental ethnicity) just opened and is already starting off with the wrong business mentality. They're hiring their own children and their friends who have no type of training or experience nor any drive to work. I had a bad experience and me talking to other people, they can agree with me because they had a similar experience as well. The first thing you see when entering the store is teenagers talking and being on their phones not caring about greeting customers. But hey, that's just the world we live in with teenagers so I didn't mind that much as that's not the main issue. The major issue I had is that there is many items that had no price... so what a customer should do? I asked one of the teenagers what the price is for one of the items I was interested in and he had 0 clue. I asked him if he could check in the register for pricing and he did so. After a while, he told me the price of the item so I asked him that if I want to purchase the item would he be able to ring it and he said there wouldn't be a problem as the price shows at the register. So I continued shopping and then started to check out, but when I got to the register there was another teenager on their phone so I had to get her attention so she could put the phone down. Everything was ringing 20-50 cent more than listed on the displayed price until a box of noodles I was purchasing (which was the item in question when previously asked for pricing) ringed almost $10 extra than the price I was told. That's when I mentioned that I already received a price and it was not that so she called for another teenager who I believe is the son of management. They very rudely told me that this is the cost and if I want it. I asked to speak with an adult and he came from outside and proceeded to display behavior that i now understand where the same behavior from the son comes from, his father. The great example of a father started to insult me and said that "these people" just come here to do these "type of things". These people? Going to the store to give him business and making sure I'm not getting taken advantage of? So I decided to pay for my groceries and leave hoping that the extra dollars they pulled from me will help them on the training they desperately need for the employees to run a business properly and professionally. P.S. about the "you people" comment, being a Latina, I will not be stepping foot in that store again for if people of my ethnicity will be judged and discriminated for not willing to be taken advantage of because we Latinos will...
Read moreThe owners are always so nice, helpful and pleasant. This is one of my favorite spots to shop, especially for everything you could possibly need to make pho at home. This is their second location and it’s much more convenient (for us) then going to Hodgson Memorial Drive, although that location rocks as well. If you’re a regular of the 1st location be prepared you will get noticed right away as did I. Which I absolutely loved, it shows how much they care about the community and their customers.
There is a great selection of products, fresh and frozen, an abundant selection of produce and bones.
The staff is very nice also.
Welcome to Pooler we are glad you are here and we...
Read moreAmazing market! I happen to stop by car wash and saw the colorful building next door and cone to know it was a Oriental market. Crazy how this Universe works for you. I recently started changing my food choices from the deadly commercial foods and started to eat more natural cultural holistic foods. They have purple Yams and so much more I will be eating from the produce department. They have...
