I was hungry and just randomly decided to come here because the pictures of the tacos looked good. It's been a stressful work week and I have stupid upstairs nieghbors. I didn't feel like going home. I walked in here and it was crowded and I didn't know where to sit so my spouse and I sat at the bar. First thing I noticed is how clean not only the dining area is. But the cooking utensils and work station behind the bar is. They made it feel safe to eat in this little hidden gem. The staff was amazing and quick to serve us. I loved how the $3.50 drinks came out in like huge beer like glasses. Even without ice, it was super cold and refreshing. I watched the chef cut an avocado and make my graucomola appetizer which had simple ingredients of onion and cilantro but it was so fresh, healthy and delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. We ordered the Texas Rice bowl with no shrimp and we expected little meat like most establishments we go to when we remove the seafood. To our surprise each of our plates was enough for two with a LOT of meat still. I literally ate with my eyes close, smiling and rocking in my seat because the food was so comforting. I didn't expect the purple onion to be spicy but I loved it. I couldn't even finish all my food. I was ready to and wanting to go home and lay down to enjoy the rest of my day indoors. The food here is delicious and soothing and the customer service is amazing. I'll gladly drive an hour to get a...
Read morePlenty of parking out front makes it easy to stop in, but once you step inside, be prepared—the space gets tight fast, especially during the lunch rush or on weekends. Seating is split between bar stools and a small number of tables, so it’s best to be patient.
One thing worth noting is that this place feels truly authentic. Most of the customers are Spanish-speaking locals, which in my opinion is a good sign you’re in the right spot for real Mexican food. Don’t let that intimidate you—the staff are friendly, approachable, and quick to help. Just walk up to the counter, ask if a seat or table is open, and you’ll be taken care of.
I ordered tripa tacos, tacos al pastor, and a pineapple aguas frescas. The drink was refreshing and had that fresh, homemade flavor (solid 8/10), while the tacos landed around a 7/10. Overall, this was the closest to authentic tacos I’ve had in this part of Georgia, which makes it worth a visit.
It’s not the biggest place, and it does get crowded, but the food and atmosphere make up for it. I’d definitely come back again when I’m craving something genuine...
Read moreWe visited here for lunch while on a weekend trip. We actually used Yelp reviews to find somewhere to eat lunch and the reviews here were good. I will say the food is more of an authentic Mexican than the traditional Tex-Mex style that is usually served in Mexican restaurants. I had chicken tacos on flour tortillas and he had chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. The food had good flavor, but the chicken was a little dry. I tried the green salsa in the container on the table and loved it. It wasn’t too spicy and had a nice citrus twang. They do not bring chips and salsa to the table like most Mexican restaurants, so keep that in mind. It’s not a bad thing, just not what we are used to. The staff was friendly, the health grade was an A. It was clean inside and out. The inside is not very large and they were busy when we were there but the service was quick. It is a seat yourself restaurant. It’s a place that we...
