We ate here on Friday Sept. 6 for dinner. I debated on whether to write this review or not because these factors may or may not be something the restaurant can even help so let me tread carefully here. First off - the staff was nice! They were kind, caring. They were friendly so let me emphasize that for good faith. The food was good. Not amazing, but good. The atmosphere though - there was something about the lighting and the way that things were set up that made me feel like I was either in a middle school cafeteria or an interrogation room with how the lights were and it wasn't comfortable. Maybe softer lights are better? Secondly it was FREEZING in there. We were shivering the whole time. And we are not the only ones who felt that way because later on when we left, this woman walked out at the same time we did and she even said "wow it's cold in there!" For this next part this is where I want to tread carefully because this may or may not be something that the restaurant can even help. Although the staff was very friendly, I felt like they didn't check on us often enough. Half the time I felt like I was looking for them to ask something. But maybe they were busy and I understand but I just wanted to be honest about my experience. And then this next part is what will make me never come here again but again..... This is not the fault of the staff and this might be something that the restaurant can never control. The demographic of the people in the restaurant in how they were acting was very very strange and made me feel uncomfortable the whole dinner. I truly felt like I was in the twilight zone. For example, 2 tables away was an elder guy just burping LOUDLY repeatedly!! Repeatedly! I lost my appetite! Then 3 tables down were 2 older guys talking LOUDLY on their cell phones as if they were the only ones in the whole restaurant! Then directly to my left was an older guy who kept whistling high pitch every few minites to the point where I almost shivered at the sound of it throughout the entire dinner. It was one of those almost "nails on a chalk board" sound. Eek! See...... This is why I want to tread carefully in saying this because this is something that the restaurant may not be able to control. But the demographic in this restaurant not necessarily with age but with the way the customers were acting gave a very very very uncomfortable experience that I have never in my entire life experienced in any restaurant! I guess the only thing I could ask for the staff is simply to just be AWARE Of what the atmosphere is like and what people are creating in the atmosphere for the rest of the...
Read moreREAD THIS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!! This was my first and LAST time trying this so-called restaurant: this was by far the WORST dining out experience I've ever had and would advise anyone who isn't a "local favorite" to find ANYWHERE else to eat. First, two different parties who arrived AFTER mine were eating before the waitress Ellen even stopped at my table to take orders. She outright ignored my easy special request (extra crispy fries; the cook later confirmed it was NOT written on the ticket!) then she smirked and belittled me when I mentioned it. She was an absolute nightmare from the start, pointedly ignoring my table and when I requested to speak with the manager on duty she apparently was it. I told her that half the food was not edible (which was true; the fries were not only limp grease bombs, they were so heavily salted it was literally choking and we could only eat a few before giving up!) Even though the burgers were mediocre at best (blatant frozen foodservice pre-formed patties atop stale bland sesame buns) we ate them up because we were very hungry. I told Ellen that it was unacceptable to be overlooked while later guests were already eating. I told her I shouldn't have to pay for the entire meal when we couldn't eat half. She again smirked and asked me "how much cents" ("sense" pun, ha ha) did I think I need? She continued to insult and patronize me, and even began to yell. At that point I informed her I refused to pay for any of that $#!++y treatment or food and stormed out. She chased me into the parking lot, and said she was calling the police on a dine and dash. Since I am not a thief, and dining and dashing is premeditated, I had no choice but to return to that horror and dish out over $40 for a crummy burger, a shared pitcher of beer, and more abuse than I've ever been privy to as a paying customer. I promised Ellen she would see a scathing letter to the editor but then realized it's far more important to inform a wider audience about this experience so they might avoid a similar one, than to use an outmoded and singular approach to proliferate...
Read moreI went there on a Saturday and when I came in, I sat up front at the stool. I ordered coffee which was not given to me until 10 minutes later. I had already sat down my menu to let them know I was ready...that again took some time. After I ordered my food, I saw that the order was placed on the counter and ready for pick up because the cook called out the order. My coffee was already drunk and no one came to fill my cup. I looked at the clock on my phone to see how long it would take someone to pick up the food I had ordered...That happened after 9 minutes.
The only reason I stayed at the restaurant was in hopes that the service would improve...it did not. No one ever came back to refill my coffee. I just sat there and watched the waitresses go back and forth, and the place was not packed.
My waitress conveniently talked with another lady in the back and not at any one time came to see if I needed anything. Actually, I don't know if the working group there was having a bad day, but being friendly is not a word I would use to describe the people who work there.
About this time because I had been sitting there a while, a waitress asked if I wanted more coffee and if I wanted to take my leftover food. I told her no and she gave me the slip to pay. The funny thing is, when she counted back my change, she hesitated...like I was going to give her a tip. I thought about it because I have tipped bad service before, but I decided against it. I wasn't about to give them something...
