I am writing to address some concerns that arose during a recent event that was hosted at your restaurant. Firstly, I would like to extend my niece's congratulations on the joyful occasion of expecting a new addition to the family. It should have been a memorable and delightful baby shower, however, there were some instances that dampened the experience for the guests. During the event, there were certain expectations for a celebratory occasion such as a baby shower, including chanting, games, and congratulations throughout. Unfortunately, it was noted that the management team seemed to create unnecessary difficulties for the baby shower party. It is important to remember that celebrating the birth of a child is a significant event in a woman's life, which should be respected and supported given the possible challenges that come with pregnancy. Even with the consent of hosting such event ? A welcoming presence was warranted. Specifically, some guests expressed their dissatisfaction with a dish that was served, featuring shrimp and grits. The refusal to accommodate their preferences by providing an alternative or adjusting the dish was disappointing. Additionally, the requirement for all guests to order and pay for a separate dish, even if they did not enjoy the original one, added unnecessary complexity and discomfort to the gathering.
Furthermore, there were instances where the party felt unwelcome due to repeated requests to lower their voices and keep the noise level down. It is essential to create a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere for guests, especially during such a special celebration.
During the duration the restaurant staff opened the outside door of the patio and the LOUD music from outside flooded over the celebratory Melanated voices. Again, the management team thought this was more pleasing to the non-melanated guests. Interesting enough , upon the departure of the non-melanated guests , they stop at our section and congratulated the Mommy to be ! Wow look at that ! We felt MORE hospitality for guest than the actual restaurant management team and staff-although the restaurant is who we paid to host the event. I usually don’t pull the race card ! But I’m here to pull it ! Please encourage more Diversity and Inclusion in your establishment! While I personally enjoyed my meal of chicken and waffles, it is disheartening to hear about the challenges faced by other guests. I believe that with better communication and a more flexible approach, such situations could have been handled more smoothly. I personally adored my waitress there and her outstanding professionalism. I can’t say that about the restaurant manager , she lacks professionalism, customer service and a diversity mindset. I would appreciate it if you would reminisce on these concerns further and explore how to ensure a more positive experience for future events hosted at your establishment. Thank you for making our experience an Unpleasurable one.
Update Reply to Meating street Reaponse I am taken back by the unnecessary disclosure of details pertaining to the event booking, as that information was of no relevance to my feedback. I was an ATTENDEE-NOT the Host. It is important to exercise discretion and professionalism when handling customer inquiries, and the disclosure of confidential agreements was both unprofessional and unwarranted. Furthermore, I feel it necessary to highlight the noise levels during our visit, particularly the decision to open the outside patio to fill the “quieter dining area” with LOUD music within the restaurant spoke volume for itself. This action not only disrupted the dining experience but also raised questions about the respect for both patrons as you say “ was celebrating also”Creating additional noise without considering the impact on EVERY guests is concerning and detracts from the...
Read moreImagine going to what appears to be a reputable restaurant with your family to celebrate your sister’s birthday/ Father’s Day with your dad. And it turned to be the worst experience one could ever encounter. To start we had a reservation at 2pm. We waited 30 minutes to be seated in a back room. Keep in mind We had TWO waiters Justin and Brandon. On Duty managers were Dan, Jeremy, and Vivian. Our food took one hour and half to come out. In between time everyone was getting “fresh bread” and we inquired why we didn’t get any and we were told they just came out and they’re fresh. Ok great so we thought well can you bring some to our table. Brandon brought us the so called “fresh bread” which turned out to be stale and if I’m not mistaken as a bread eater the bread taste as if it was expired. We informed Brandon and he finally was able to bring us fresh bread. Meanwhile while still waiting for our food manager Dan came by to talk to us to apologized for the long wait etc.. and that he will accommodate us for the delay. Food finally came out my sister and I ordered the lamb chop medium/well mine was under cooked they had to take it back which took another 20 minutes my sister however on her last bite of her lamb chop bit into a yellow plastic item. We informed the waiter immediately and he took it to go show the manager. So when I got my food I too on my last bite bit into a sharp yellow plastic object mind you I’m pregnant and was in disbelief how close I came to swallowing it. I became very irritated and told waiter I needed to speak with a manager because at this point why are there yellow sharp object in our lamb chops twice. The manager never stop by our table not to mention the restaurant had THREE managers. The waiters forgot about my sisters birthday cake. What was suppose to be discreet was ruined. They offered us two cheesecake to accommodate their mishap. The icing on the cake was upon our exit the hostess asked how everything was and I TOLD THEM ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! at which point they insisted that I speak with one of their managers I told them that it was ok. But they insisted after I explained to them what occurred and showed them pictures. one of them went to get a manager. long behold the Jeremy the manager showed. I explained to Jeremy what happened and in fact inquired why a Manager was requested to our table and one never showed up. He had no answer. He apologized but it was more abrupt and took zero accountability for how my sister and I came close to choking on plastic at his restaurant he made no effort to assure that this would not happened again. At that point i didn’t feel safe and he was nonchalant about my concerns. As I was leaving Jeremy said to me in the most sarcastic tone see you again and told him no he won’t and he proceeded to say “you’ll come again” and that right there was INFURIATED ME TO THE CORE! And is what led me to write this lengthy review. I’ve worked in restaurants businesses before and how our situation was handled was very unprofessional. We spend our hard earn money at a place where we expect great service but on this day was pure HELL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK...
Read moreMy wife and I drove 40 minutes to try the restaurant. We often get some drinks and 3-4 apps to share instead of heavy meals. Upon arrival I was impressed with the building and decor. The 3 girls at the hostess stand (not sur why 3) were very pleasant and we were seated fairly quickly, Our sever Gianna was also very pleasant and did a great job. Unfortunatley, the strawberry lemon drop was made with strawberry syrup and the rim was not sugared. My Pear martini wasn't bad but again on the sweet side. We switched to Cosmos and was not impressed at all. At $17 per drink, I expect them to be very good. The ocotpus was 1/2 good, meaning the 2 pieces of octopus on the plate we of such different sizes, one was cooked well but the other was over cooked and rubbery. It didn't matter because the 20 or so olives ont he plate were so salty, it overpowered everything. we also ordered the artichokes for $17 and you get 2 aritchokes cut in half. They put a little bread crumbs and parm cheese on them and placed them in a weak lemon wine sauce. The Tuna tartar was the best of the 3 aps but it came with 6 fried wontons, leaving you to eat the bulk of the tuna with a fork. Ok, so this might sound bad but we had decided to come back another time, maybe during happy hour and give it another try until the bill came. As I looked over the bill, checking for a CC fee or the mandatory gratutity many places are charging, I did not find either. What I did find was an "operational fee" of 3.5%. I said to my wife what is that and then saw at the bottom the bill the explaination. "A 3.5% Operations fee will be applied to all sales to offset the constantly changing cost from our suppliers". Now this is a legal fee that restaurants can charge in Florida but it is new to me. I own a business and we do not charge a CC fee or a mandatory gratutity at the smoothie bar and we absolutely do not charge an operation fee. This fee just seems wrong. Every week I do my due diligence and look for the best prices I can find, weather it is on toilet paper, towels, proshop supplies or equipment. I feel this should be called a manager lazieness fee. I am not saying not to go to this restaurant, I just needed to put it out there about the stupidest fee I have seen yet, when going out to eat. And if anyone wants to comment that I don't know what I'm talkng about, I have worked every job in a restaurant, owned restaurants and graduated from Johnson and Wales with a Culinary Degree. The restaurant business has changed but then I guess so...
