Our family of 4 walked to Kilwins for a fun family outing last night. $30 for 3 (tiny) sundaes and a milkshake. We knew they were expensive but considered it a special treat.
Unfortunately they have drastically reduced the portion size. They literally weigh it out on a scale. The ice cream looks miniscule in the container. So to fill the container, they add a ton of hot fudge. It seemed like I ordered a bowl of fudge as I could hardly taste the ice cream that had become buried somewhere underneath of the fudge! Then to top it off, my husband's ice cream had freezer burn! We should've went to Publix and bought ice cream to make our own sundaes.
I will mention, on a positive note, we did specifically ask for a thicker shake (because in the past it has been quite thin) and it turned out good this time. My son enjoyed it.
I just feel for the money they charge, it should always be fresh, consistent, and a more appropriate portion!
It keeps being longer in between our trips to Kilwins, as this location is not doing their part to keep us coming back. It's ashame because they're right around the corner and I would like to go more, but not with their current pricing and portions! Tutti Frutti seems to be doing a lot more business and may end up driving Kilwins out...
Read moreMy daughter loves getting ice cream from here but after our rude service today we will no longer be returning. We enjoyed the market this morning in the square and went to finish off the day with ice cream. We did have to wait for them to open and when they did one of the girls working made it very clear she was not happy we were there. She unlocked the door and walked away. Typically they would open the door with a nice greeting. The only thing she said to us in a rude tone is “We don’t allow dogs”. I informed her he was my service animal and her reaction was an eye roll. Definitely felt like my family’s business was unwanted. If you don’t like your job find a new one. Don’t ruin other family’s experience because...

Everything you see is made fresh and many items made right in the shop. It can be a bit pricey but its worth it. I had a delicious fudge sundae and it was delicious!! The ice cream was creamy and rich. A nice place to stop and grab a quick dessert or to pick up some fabulous treats and bring...
