[EDIT: Since the owner is accusing me of lying, I'll elaborate: it was the woman working there that night who told me the ginger tea is premade and sugary after I inquired. It was also she who showed me the "real fruit frozen yogurt" really came out of a carton. So either she lied or things have changed since the time I left this review 3 months ago, and today when the owner left a response accusing me of lying when I have zero reason to. Rough.
As far as whether it's vegan, I don't remember because again, I left this review 3 months ago, but there might have been a sign that read "Vegan" or else I'd have no reason to assume it's vegan.]
Meh. Ginger tea isn't really ginger tea - it's a sugary premade drink. "Real fruit frozen yogurt" isn't vegan (but what's in it? It comes out of a carton like a milk carton. Gross 🤢 where's the "real fruit"? The lady working there wouldn't say.) What type of protein is the plant-based protein? She didn't know either and checked but didn't clearly confirm. My partner got a smoothie (which he enjoyed the taste of because it's sugary, not because it's nutritious) and I got nothing. Super disappointed as I was hoping this was healthy real food and I could get the froyo, but it's more pretty sugars and fruit than...
Read moreFirst visit went well. Enjoyed the acai bowl.
Edit: super bummed, during my second visit (2nd visit in a week) I ventured to try something new, the PB acai bowl. Thinking if the first was amazing the more expensive bowl would be even better. Unfortunately it just wasn’t very good. Especially as a fan of PB.
I politely asked the person working if they’d please allow me to switch out for the other acai bowl. They didn’t want to, and that’s fine but beware that if you try something new and you don’t like it. You’re out of luck. Which is unfortunate. I was incredibly excited to eating an acail bowl and should have just got what I knew I liked instead of trying something new.
I mentioned that having managed a similar place, I knew it was always better for a customer to come speak directly to address something than leave a review which. I always disliked when customers ran to make reviews without first trying to give us an opportunity to...
Read moreI sat at the table to look over the menu and not have the staff waiting on me. When I finally walk up to the counter the cashier looks at me and begins washing the counter. Another staff behind her told her in Spanish to take care of me and instead of taking my order she finishes wiping down the counter before even looking my way (she’s within arms reach the entire time). Once I placed my order, the other woman takes 2-3 minutes texting on her phone before she started making the smoothie. There were only two people working at the time. At least one of them should pretend they care somewhat about the customers. This was at the downtown location...
