Thank you so much Portland Burger for the amazing experience and such excellent burgers. The first order was on June 16th, 2020 when I first had an encounter looking for something to eat, I was looking for burgers options for an impossible burger. There were so many on the list it was insane how many burger places are here in Portland. Portland Burger it is, so I decided to order 1 Angry Jalapeno & Fries that added all up to $17.23. It was a fast delivery and "There it was"
The Panda Mind Blown Moment in my mouth. Something was happening and my Tummy says more. There was a war between the burger and my mouth at this time and my mind was saying order more.
So, I order another, this time I order Angry Jalapeno & Fries - 1/3lb, Garlic-Parm Sauce, Substitute Impossible Patty, Vegetarian, no meat, Onion Rings, Beer Battered
Now you know, my mouth was really at war with the first burger. Haha Yes, I was completely in Panda Heaven after enjoying my second burger thinking about the moment we had together in my mouth, YUMMMMMMM
Then next week I order again but this time it was Amanda; IMPOSSIBLE "burger" & Fries (VEGAN) Angry Jalapeno Sauce, Tator Tots and again with another order of the So, I order another, this time I order Angry Jalapeno & Fries - 1/3lb, Garlic-Parm Sauce, Substitute Impossible Patty, Vegetarian, no meat, Onion Rings, Beer Battered.
So, yes is that darn good and you missing out. As thepandaphotographer, I do approve of one of the best burgers locations in Portland. Find me on social media and thank you Portland Burger for the awesome messages when I...
Read moreI was happy to see the size of the crowd here at Portland Burger. Downtown Portland is so full of abandoned storefronts its nice to see a thriving spot. It wasn't just busy while I was there, it was busy 3 hours later when I drove by. So they must be doing something right.
I didn't see what that 'right' was. first of all, it was tough to figure out how to order anything. I was looking for a cheese burger with trimmings so I could easily compare it to other burger spots. The menu offers up 10 options that are difficult to comprehend in 10 seconds of first time looking and the price structure, although being very simple, was still unclear... what do you get for the low price vs larger price? I wasn't seeing that. The guy behind the register seemingly got nothing but special orders so I ordered that.
The atmosphere is loud thunderous 90's alt rock. The crowd was a lot of families which was nice to see.
The burger was not great. The bun was not awesome. The burger itself from what I could tell was not worth noting. What the Portland Burger is all about is the sauces. There were a couple of outrageously over the top sauces on one burger that were very interesting unto themselves. The sauces basically made it so that you couldn't tell anything else about the burger itself... but that was okay.
In my opinion, this place has a long way to go to compare to a spot like Shake Shack where if you get a burger at the right time, you will have met perfection. Portland Burger seems to be trying. They have a crowd. But there are better spots nearby that I would pick any time...
Read moreWhy not 5 stars? Truly the food is fantastic- fried pickles, onion rings, fried cheese curds, delicious house-made dipping sauces, big, creative and tasty burger options, and delicious shakes . But I'm a nit picker, so here's the nits. The flavor combinations in the burgers are mouth-watering, but both my daughter and I agreed there was too much BBQ sauce on both our burgers. She had the Animal and I had the Brickhouse. The BBQ sauce prevented the flavors of the brisket and pulled pork from joining into a delightful dance of flavor with the beef patty. In addition, my son, who loves spicy chicken sandwiches, felt that the heat of the Hot Chick chicken sandwich overwhelmed the flavor. He didn't enjoy it. There's heat and then there's heat with flavor. The Hot Chick was just heat. There's a difference between pouring black pepper on your tongue (bland, one-dimensional heat) versus the nuances in the juicy, fruity heat of a good jalapeno. It missed the mark. However, (huge surprise!) my wife couldn't stop talking about the house-made dipping sauces and how much she wanted to come back for them. Why is that a huge surprise? She's a vegetarian and doesn't particularly care for burgers (I know, right, utter blasphemy!) She even passes on burgers with veggie patties. What's wrong with her?!! All that said, the burgers were huge and enjoyable. My recommendation: Definitely DO NOT SKIP Portland Burger!!! It's awesome!!! Just have them back off on the BBQ sauce and reconsider the Hot Chick unless she's a hot chick sitting across the table from you (like my wife). Definitely...
