Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Chose it because it’s close to our hotel and the menu sucked us in. The customer service started the moment the guy sat us at our table. He was so friendly and chatty. Then Sherry our waitress showed up and she was just the best. She insisted we move to a table that was better balanced and in a breezier location and then gave us extra free beignets for being so accommodating! She kept saying how good things come to good people. My sister and I struggled to choose what to get but landed on the apple frittwich and the crab Benedict. She got a London fog drink and I had the mango lemonade. Both were as exceptional as the food. I’m usually not a fan of beignets but these were light, airy, perfectly fried, and dusted in cinnamon sugar. The lemonade was tart, tangy, with just the right amount of sweetness, and garnished with a slice of sweetened dried mango. The London fog was the perfect amount of lavender and vanilla and so creamy. You also get free refills on lemonade so I tried blueberry on the second round and it was equally amazing. Sherry recommended that we add bacon to the apple frittwich to balance the sweetness and she was so right! Every bite of that was decadent and delicious. Same with the crab Benedict. It wasn’t a crab cake - it was a pile of delicious, real crab! The hollandaise was perfect. Even the roasted red potatoes and cheesy hashbrowns were incredible. Usually those are just a plate filler for me.
A homeless gentleman who was selling roses walked past the restaurant and she went over and bought two roses for us! She was appreciative that he was doing his best to make a living and not just panhandling. It was just so thoughtful and amazing.
My sister and I were battling over who would pay the check and both had our credit cards out. She took them, swapped them behind her back, and had a diner at another table select one! How hilarious and neutral!
I don’t normally do this but I felt compelled to give her really big tip because she was just so deserving. I happened to have a crisp, fresh $100 bill in my wallet so I handed that to her and thanked her for being her and for working in the service industry (especially in these challenging Covid times). She teared up and hugged me. It was totally worth it! We will definitely be back and encourage anyone in the area to support this...
Read moreThe restaurant was very crowded when we arrived, but our host led us through a passageway from the side of the bar to the restrooms and into a second room. (There was another room here!😲 which was a bit of a surprise since it was our first time here. 😅) That room had high ceilings and a bright window facing the street, and this room was very comfortable as well. The complimentary beignets from the restaurant served as our first meal were freshly made, fluffy, and delicious. We had the Portuguese Fried Rice and the Apple Frittwich. The fried rice had a nice flavor of Portuguese sausage and avocado and was different from fried rice elsewhere. The Apple Frittwich was a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and is one of the must-try dishes when you come here.😊👍 Thanks to this, we were able to spend a relaxing Sunday while enjoying coffee together.☕✨😊😊 02/04/2024 We had the Crab Benedict ($28.95) and Pork Sandwich ($16.50), along with two coffees ($3 each), to try the other dishes we enjoyed last time. The Crab Benedict had a big piece of crab meat and was a little salty, but it went well with the egg. The pork had a strong pork smell but was easy to eat. 08/25/2024 The Portuguese fried rice I had before was so delicious that I ordered it again today. The French toast, especially with the addition of blueberries, was exceptionally tasty.🤤 01/04/2025(Sat) We decided to try items from the "Monthly Special" menu and ordered the French Toast Casserole ($17) and the Monte Cristo ($19). The French Toast had a wonderfully moist texture, almost like bread pudding. As for the Monte Cristo, some parts had a slightly strong turkey ham aroma, but the tartness of the cranberry sauce balanced it out nicely, making it enjoyable overall. 01/19/2025 (Sun) Loco Moco ($17.50) Hamburger Club $19.50 (add French Fries $1.50) Peppermint Espresso Martini ($14) Diet Coke (Can $2) 04/03/2025 (Thu) pFriem IPA ($5 × 2), Yuzu Press Mocktail ($8) Blackened Chicken Sandwich ($18), Crispy Asian...
