I’ve been visiting this place often nowadays but truly had one of the WORST experiences today at Stumptown Coffee.
We walked in at 3PM to get our coffee. There was ONE PERSON AT THE COUNTER IN ALL DENIM WITH SHORT HAIR and a lovely person in the back making coffee.
The woman/man/they/them at the counter first off did not acknowledge our existence. COMPLETELY IGNORING US, NOT RECEIVING OUR ORDER as we were right in front of the line because he/she/they had to talk with a friend that had already ordered.
The person finally asked us what we wanted STILL TALKING to the friend. And gave us an attitude because we “cut” their conversation. Then suddenly got a cup with the worst attitude and the without looking poured milk in the cup in the worst manner.
I accidentally took out a different coupon from another store and the person in the counter said “That’s not ours” and ignored us. I then took out the right one and asked for it to get punched. The person snatched it from my hand and punched it.
One of the most OUTRAGING AND AWKWARD wait for our coffee.
Never visiting this...
Read moreGreat spot for coffee, but I did make a crucial mistake on my end by ordering their breakfast sandwich.
Connected to the Ace Hotel where we stayed, this cute little shop served up great coffee. However, I did take the extra step and ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, which may have contained tree nuts, for which I was not notified until I noticed a pesto-like sauce.
I did ask the baristas who did confirm that a previous recipe did contain tree nuts, so I spend the next 30 minutes waiting for a reaction (not a great way to start the day). The staff did come by to check on me which was appreciated and they did mention that the new recipe may not contain the nuts. Regardless, I still felt it prudent to not finish the sandwich.
Overall a good spot that I just happened to have a poor experience with. Guess I wasn’t expecting a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich to contain tree nuts, but you learn something...
Read moreAh, Stumptown.
You’ll either love this place or be irritated by it. You can’t get 1 million flavors like you can at Starbucks. So don’t come here for that. I think the only syrup sweetener available is vanilla (sugar-free as well).
And I can’t really speak to the food, because I don’t eat the food here usually. I’m not a high-carb guy.
But the coffee … mmmm … the coffee … it’s the best coffee in town. It’s the perfect balance of flavor. It’s so smooth. That’s my favorite way to describe this coffee. Smooth. I drink a lot of coffee and I always stop at Stumptown when I’m in Portland. Nothing else compares.
This particular location has a very nice seating area down below with comfy couches (see my pictures). It’s perfect for a day when I’m in Portland, walking, taking pictures and enjoying the city. I come in here and I don’t want to leave. I enjoy watching the people and...
