There are five star reviews for Coopers Hall sort of … everywhere, but I don’t know that all of them really show the level of professionalism, detail, and passion for their work that these folks exude. Not only would I have my wedding here again, but I am also looking for any excuse in the world to have another large event just so I can host it here (ideas welcome) ;-).

We initially spoke with Shannan and then largely worked with Maegan throughout. The day of our wedding, it seemed like Sam ran the show. Sidenote: my friends who work in the industry couldn’t say enough about Sam’s personality and ability. That said, we met and chatted with, I’m guessing, all of the behind-the-scenes staff at Coopers.

These people do SO MANY weddings and other events, but their work with us felt unique and absolutely genuine. They weren’t over-the-top, trying to show they care; they clearly just take pride in what they do, and care about human beings and celebrations in general. They’re all people you’d want to be friends with. This was priceless when planning a wedding, because stress amps up quickly, and they were not only never part of that stress, but a quick email to them, and they would dissipate any anxiety. I think of the time I messaged Maegan about family worries, and she essentially said, ‘We. Got. You.’ Another example is my aunt, who has a brain injury and a service dog, and they went out of their way to be welcoming and supportive of her and of him. I’m talking like…I didn’t want my alcoholic relatives to accidentally be served wine at a WINERY (I know) and they kept an eye out for me, without hesitation!

Countless guests have told me that this was the very best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. One lovely thing Coopers does is they give you a tasting of the menu before the wedding, and it’s a beautiful event itself, with other couples, wine, and lots of food. It’s more a banquet than a tasting, and you get to choose your menu from that. The chef (Keith) even introduces himself and walks around, answering any questions you might have. They have special kids meals if you want, and all the picky eaters in our family DEVOURED them. They do batched specialty cocktails, much to the delight of all.

Another thing. The SECOND our guests arrived, drinks were out, and apps were passed. The SECOND we needed guests to be seated, they were magically there. We (bride and groom) received our food almost immediately, so we could try to eat. Everyone had salad and bread right away.

There were absolutely no mishaps the entire night. There wasn’t a sound glitch, a food glitch, a timing glitch, or a moment that the staff wasn’t top-rate. (We got to go to a three Michelin star restaurant on our honeymoon and honestly…Coopers staff would fit right in).

A couple months later, and I’m still hearing from guests that this was the best wedding they’d ever been to, and we have Coopers Hall to thank for it. I’d encourage anyone to book them, unless it’s a date I want in the future, in which case…um…check out one of Portland’s other, less awesome venues, please!

Look no further than Coopers Hall. The venue is stunning on it's own but can be customized to whatever vision you have for your wedding day. The food is INCREDIBLE and there are so many options for any dietary restriction you can think of. It's cozy and warm and centrally located to downtown which makes travel for both in town and out of town guests a breeze.

But, more importantly than all of that is the Coopers Hall wedding team. You CANNOT find a more professional, accommodating, organized, and all around welcoming group of planners. We worked with Mae and Shannan for a majority of the planning but ANYTHING we thought of they had answers for.

Our wedding was a rowdy Scottish-Italian affair and it went off without a hitch. They were able to customized a traditional drink we used to make on camping trips with my family for cocktail hour, they didn't blink (and later executed with PERFECTION) when we asked if we could "ice" an entire table of wedding guests, and they even made sure my mom had the meat for her plates cooked a bit longer then the rest. We made a lot of the decor around the venue ourselves and even requested beer that was sold in Montana as another signature item and Mae worked with the distributor for us and organized the timeline for all the vendors to work with. We hosted both our ceremony and reception here and, although we were worried about 120 people being in the building during the "switch" you wouldn't have noticed. It went so smoothly!

They have so many brides and even non-wedding events come through their doors but you wouldn't know it. Every couple gets exactly what they are envisioning for their big day and you feel like the attention is 100% on you.

Even after the wedding was over and the bills have been paid, we still reach out to Mae because we absolutely loved working with her. Our wedding day was perfect and we've already decided to spend our anniversary in Portland every year from here on out so we can celebrate at Coopers Hall.

If you are even the slightest bit interested in hosting a wedding here, please please please reach out to the team. They will hold a special place in our hearts for the rest of...

Coopers Hall is more than deserving of its title of one of the best wedding venues in Portland. The space is so well naturally and artfully decorated, it hardly needs any additional furnishings amongst the wine barrels, string lights, and ample greenery. It has an effortless casual elegance without being pretentious. The sommelier is passionate about the quality and sustainability of the wine that is served, and the food. Good lord, the food!! Made with the freshest, seasonal, most local ingredients and with such elevated preparations. The pride the chef and kitchen staff have in their craft and hospitality is indisputable. They even went above and beyond to accommodate our guests with allergies or other food restrictions. I need to talk about Jane Morgan, our event coordinator. She is professional, patient, kind, and organized. We had our, twice postponed, wedding in July 2022. Throughout the planning process, Jane was responsive, flexible, and steadfast in helping us keep on track. Everything I thought could go wrong was taken care of on the event date. Where do all my decorations go? Jane’s on it. How will our photographer and DJ know what to do and when? Jane’s on it. How are we going to keep the guests informed about what’s going on during the night? Jane’s on it. I had one of my decorations literally fall apart. Jane was on it with a hot glue gun! Who knows how many things could have gone wrong if not for Jane’s intervention. Who knows how many things actually went wrong but were swiftly addressed, leaving me none the wiser? Jane and the rest of the crew at Coopers Hall made us feel like stars, and our celebration was everything I hoped it would be. Hosting any sort of event at Coopers Hall can be a substantial investment, but I believe it was more...
