My best friend picked me up from work after he got off of work and I was just getting off of work from the location I was at. We're walking around downtown Portland and we're planning on going to coffee at a place close to where I work. They had just closed so we looked online and stumbled across this one. Looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders like why not, and walked in. They were a few people in there, but it was nice and peaceful they were not yelling or anything they were talking quietly to each other. The plants were beautiful and created a wonderful atmosphere. We ordered our coffees, and the server even informed us of the amount of shots in our beverages just in case we didn't want it that many or we needed more which I thought was very helpful considering we have never been there before. They also gave us the options of dairy or non-dairy milk which I thought was amazing. We sat down at the table and it was peaceful. The coffee was flavorful and wasn't overpowering on anything it was perfectly blended, although for me personally I need to remember for myself to always ask for half sweet so that one is on me. I got a medium ice vanilla latte with an extra shot, and my friend got the caramel macchiato. This is definitely a place I will be returning to next time I am in...

This is one of those hidden gem Mom n' Pop shops.

Super random extensive menu with anything and everything including sandwiches, bagels and bubble tea.

Don't expect hand crafted self pickled kind of items. No Milkshake or smoothie from local organic products BUT there are locally baked goods and a great drink selection. You WILL get a friendly smile welcoming you and as a regular they will remember your name. This is a dying breed of establishment that I wish would make a comeback.

Yes I want healthy ingredients in my food but you can still find healthy options here if you take the time to look. I also enjoy their random decorating and crazy menu, the dumb founding amount of pastries available any given day and some endearing language barriers and cultural differences that have led to some bad reviews by impatient folks. This place has limitations but it also has charm and folks who care to give you a great start or end to any day.

Come in, find something you like and come often. This kind of place will actually appreciate your patronage unlike so many Portland snooty joints who seem to care less if you return and more about what you think of their smoke and mirrors. I come here for homework time before school...

Ordered online came in to pick up my order , the ice cream coffee I ordered was an iced cream drink not ice cream coffee and ice I even texted in the box ice cream coffee ....yesterday I went in and asked specifically for an ice creamed coffee she ran off all the flavors and I ended up screwing myself into a milkshake not realizing I was about to get so begin to inquire about a ice cream espresso as the man told me today and told me I still had to pay for a new drink ??? That is horrible service he shouldn't have of said this he should've offered me a replacement drink.... They went from 16 to 20 $ a day from me 5 days a week at 400$ a month, 4800 $ a year possibly to now id rather go without.... just saying I had already paid for a drink and if the one I ordered was less than I would've paid the balance but he went straight to I'm going to have to pay ???? Like I said I won't be back I have going here since I stayed my new job downtown for nearly 6 months and ordering the same thing with a tip daily 5 days a week and this is how he treats...

Coolest Coffee Shop!! In Portland for work and having a rough day, when I got back to my hotel I found that they had not restocked the coffee in my room which ended up being a blessing because I found this hidden gem just a short walk away and fell in love with ths place! The moment I walked in all of my frustrations from the day melted away, the vibe is so wonderful I immediatly felt better! The young lady at the counter must have seen me struggling with the tablet at the kiosk and offered to take my order, the staff has such a pleasant attitiude I wanted to sit and enjoy the afternoon for a while but had work to do so had to take my leave but I am already looking forward to coming back on my next tri to town in just a few weeks, I will be stopping here first and probably a few times during my trip! Oh yeah, the coffee is outstanding, vey smooth and my mocha was incredibly tasty as well! A must visit for all Portland coffee fans for sure!

Wandering downtown Portland while visiting from out of town, and I stop by my favorite haberdashery, Classic Collection Hats on Oak. After buying a topper, I ask the guy where to grab a tea and kill some time. He started raving about Java Man, just down the street. What great people here! Super friendly and upbeat! And the breakfast and lunch sandwich selection was awesome! But, what was the real pleasant surprise was the prices! They were running a breakfast special of a ham, cheese and egg English muffin sandwich for $3.00! I mean c'mon, how do they even stay open giving food away like this! 🤣 Comfortable chairs, neighboring business people coming in and out being greeted by name... A great place to spend a bit of time over an iced green tea. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!
