Overpriced. Severely overpriced. Their selection of candy is not that great. They spread it out all over the store, but it's not abundent in variety or reasonably priced. They have some British offerings. But most of it was old. I was going to buy some chewy candies, but put them back because they were rock hard and cost way too much. You'll find a better variety at Plaid Pantry to be honest. They have 50 different kinds of disgusting soda that tastes like Ranch dressing or corn. They buy their novelties from Archie McPhee in Seattle, and charge you double what they would charge. They don't even have anything that hard to find that you'd want.
Their soda selection is "meh". There used to be a place on Hawthorne that had a huge selection of sodas from everywhere and micro-bottlers. This place has a few offerings. Disgusting flavors, rootbeers that you can buy at Trader Joe's, World Market, or Fred Meyer for half the price, & some grape, cream, and orange sodas. Most disappointing were the lack of variety in cola flavors or actual Good flavors. The gross flavors line the store. Their stock is old, dusty, and overpriced. Even for...
Read moreI wanted to like this place, really I did. My boyfriend and I had been talking about coming here for months even!
The setup of the store is quirky and fun but what in the hell is with those small boxes peeking out from under the candy shelves. They're obviously super heavy - filled with more candy. Bad business model, Rocket Fizz. Here's why : I ended up snagging my left foot on one of those boxes and found myself falling forward. Thank goodness my boyfriend was was there to catch my near-spill, because if he hadn't been there, welp... Don't know if those were intentionally left there or if your employees are too busy getting stoned on the job to put away those boxes, but I'm not happy. Put your boxes in a BETTER place so someone else doesn't trip over them. Also, hire some different employees.
TL;DR : hurt my foot at a candy store because whomever runs this place thinks it's okay to leave heavy boxes on the floor. My foot still hurts the day...
Read moreOriginally, I walked into this store with high hopes and was blown away by the atmosphere and style of the place. My happiness soon turned sour. My partner and I did enjoy the candy and soda variety except we left feeling ripped off. We spent $12.99 on this mystery bag hoping it would have a variety of candies we haven’t tried before, but they were all name brand items and their value was no where near the amount we paid for it. Even if we valued everything at $1, we still lose money. Honestly just go to your nearby Dollar Tree instead, save some cash. Also, don’t play the pinball machines as somehow our ball got stuck on our first try after inserting a dollar! Ugh, never going here again. Feel free to check it out but be careful how you choose to...
