As lots of people have pointed out: It's a hole in the wall kind of place... Clean, but unlikely to impress a date. A pretty large menu. Quite fast, we had some other people waiting when we got there, but they got our order done within only a few minutes. Prices are noticeably low. The machaca burritos were quite tasty. Not something one sees on every Mexican place's menu. Good "roast beef" kind of flavor. The veggie quesadilla was very hearty, more like a meal item than the normal appetizer. The bean and cheese (burrito?) was a hit with my spouse. I get the feeling one should specifically mention vegetarian even on the "veggie lovers" section of the menu. I think the black beans are the only vegetarian beans. About the only thing that was odd was I didn't see the drinks listed on the menu. I may order one in the future, but I may have to just point at the machine and say "What flavor?" Good size parking lot in the back. Some street parking, but the lot is rarely full.

Found a metal wire in my burrito. It's like the one that is at the core of a bread bag tie. It probably came from a wire brush they use for scrubbing down the blacktop. Without the wire the burrito would be in the 2-3 star range. Super oily (not in a good way trust me). Bland refried beans. The carnitas had slabs of unrendered fat and no crisp. The Pico de Gallo was low on tomato and large on the onion's dice. The horchata wasn't bad. It was a little thin/watery for my taste though. I like my horchata to have a whole milk like texture and this was closer to the runoff you get from washing your rice before cooking. Service was fine. For context I took my burrito to go so I don't know how they would react to my conplaint regarding the metal wire. The vibe is a basic Mexican joint. Mid as hell, nothing to write home about, doesn't have the charm of a good hole in the wall. Needless to say I ain't coming back.

This restaurant has some of the BEST Mexican food in Portland! We always ordered their double bacon cheeseburgers and were never disappointed with how crispy the bacon was. The french fries were soooo fresh as well! I ordered the chimichanga covered with enchilada sauce sometimes. The tostadas were very delicious too. However, the avocado sauce was okay, but fresh avocados would have made the flavor pop more in my opinion. The cashiers were always very kind. Wonderful atmosphere. Made me feel at home. I hope to return to Portland and try King Burrito's burgers and burritos again! ❤🧡💛 10/10, would recommend to any burger fan out there! And honestly, when I ordered to go, I never took too many pictures of the food because it was so good I'd just end up eating it as soon as I arrived home! 😆 haha

I have been a fan of King for a really long time , and their burger used to low key be one of the best in town (and I’m not the only one who has testified to the greatness of a Kings Burrito burger ). I know right out the gate most of you all are saying “ well why buy a burger at a burrito place stoooopittt!?” Well for those of you not in the know a Mexican street burger is its own thing and it’s amazing. Sadly Kings fell of big time , i don’t like leaving bad reviews but this is from a place of caring they perhaps you can return to your greatness. I should have known when Abuelita who I ordered from was very cagey about answering my question “do you still make a burger ?” The burger and hotdog options were still on the menu but the prices were removed leaving me to believe they were phasing it out . She gave a shrug that could have meant “yes” or “no”. I then asked what’s on the kings burger versus the regular cos I forgot and her answer was equally vague “ you know it’s got burger ..burger stuff “! Anyhow I got it and it was probably the kind of burger that would have caused a riot if served in prison. The meat was literally a milenesa filet with the breading scraped off. Tough as leather ..tasty leather. No bun , no shredded lettuce and onion etc like they used to do and a really strange slice of cheese. I was crushed . I couldn’t even eat a quarter of it I was so disappointed . The fries were amazing and luckily I ordered two tacos cos I was rightfully dubious of this lady selling me a “burger “. Please 🙏 fix this or stop making...

Almost 5 stars, was suggested to me by 2 people as "The Best" in the area.

My, was i disappointed. HIGHLY disappointed at that.

I ordered their cheese nachos(just luke warm nacho cheese on stale tortilla chips), 1 steak fajita taco, 1 carne asada taco and 2 beef hard tacos.

The fajita taco was soaked in what ever meat juice. There was only green bell peppers on it and it was some weird already been chewed beef that was oddly soft in a artificial way and did NOT resemble steak. There was zero flavor to the meat and it didn't help that my tortilla was soggy and falling apart. Carne asada taco only had cilantro and also had the same soft already been chewed meat that didn't look like carne asada at all. More like it came from a can of Alpo.

Their red and green salsa were flavorless and barely a hint of spice and extremely watery.

The beef hard tacos had really really already been chewed soft meat, unmelted cheese, 4 pieces of diced tomatoes and a giant hand full of shredded lettuce. All I tasted was lettuce. I dumped lettuce off it and then doused it in sauce. Everything was flavorless and the sauce only barely helped(and saying "helped" is very generous being that the sauce is bland). Its an embarrassment for them that Jack in the Box tacos had more flavor than anything I ordered.

I had high hopes for this place but it seems all the good reviews are most likely biased for some reason. The food here is awful.

They've got great service, I'm going to suggest that maybe they put some of that effort into what they are actually serving...

First time here, got the chorizo breakfast burrito. Guy who answered the phone knew the menu, the ingredients, and the prices on the spot (went up by about a dollar vs the pics on google). He and the woman at the register were very nice, and the burrito was ready QUICK and it tasted GOOD.

pretty good spot, hope im in the area again so i can try something else.

update: 2 yrs later i was back in the area, ordered the carne asada burrito. i wish it came standard with cheese & rice but it doesnt, also think the green sauce could use some lemon juice. other than that it was great, they made the effort to trim the beef, its a decent size (almost couldnt fit the last 2 bites) & im writing this several hours later after not getting diarrhea, thats always nice.

great job you guys, keep it up! cant wait to come back.

update 2025: they dont have sausage at all. when i asked for light onion there was still huge strips of onion on my burrito. always have to pay extra for basic ingredients left out of burritos like rice or beans. they use frozen fries instead of fresh potatoes. im pretty sure i got charged $5 for a drink last time too. im in the area again for work, & im bummed that i cant consider this my go-to spot anymore. they...
