La Petite in Portland, Oregon, is a coffee shop that truly stands out for its consistent quality and authentic approach to coffee and food. Their recipes, inspired by traditional Italian and French techniques, result in a menu that feels both thoughtful and genuine. As someone who’s spent time in Italy, I was pleasantly surprised by how well their coffee and pastries capture the essence of an authentic Italian café. It’s likely the closest you’ll find to that experience in Portland.

The coffee is excellent, brewed with precision and offering rich, consistent flavors. Whether you prefer a bold espresso or a more delicate latte, the attention to detail is evident. It’s a great spot for anyone who appreciates coffee made with care.

The food menu is equally impressive. Their croissant and bagel sandwiches are highlights—flaky, fresh, and generously portioned. Every dish is well-prepared and beautifully presented, making it hard to pick just one favorite. The portion sizes and competitive pricing also make it a great value, especially considering the quality.

The space itself is inviting and spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. It’s a comfortable spot for working, meeting friends, or just enjoying a quiet moment.

Cyclists will appreciate the convenience of four Nike BikeTown racks right outside, making it an ideal stop for those on the go or looking for a bike-friendly café. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast before work or spending the morning working with a cup of coffee, La Petite is worth a visit.

Overall, La Petite does an excellent job blending quality, authenticity, and accessibility. It’s a solid option for coffee and food in Portland, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a place with character and...

We ended up at this sorry excuse for a café after my friend mixed up which spot we were meeting at. Big mistake. The service was absolutely horrible.

I walked in smiling, knowing exactly what I wanted, and went straight to the counter. The short, dark-haired cashier greeted me with a disgusted glare and said nothing. I should have left right then. When I asked where to order, she just pointed two feet away while staring me down. No one else was in line.

When I gave my order, she kept asking me to repeat it, louder each time, with an attitude as unpleasant as her expression. Another employee with finger tattoos took my cash while I told my friend—loudly—that we were leaving. Instead of addressing anything, he just gave a sarcastic “I’m sorry to hear that” as the cashier handed me a straw with a mocking “have a nice day.”

It was giving racist, caveman-level insecurity vibes. The place has cold decor, a truly awful atmosphere, and overpriced, mediocre chai tea to top it off.

Long story short: Skip this place and head to Cascadia Cafe a block away. The owner there is fantastic, the service is always five-star, the food and drinks are better (and cheaper), the vibe is warm and welcoming, and the space has great sunlight.

Whoever owns this other establishment—consider this a free lesson. Your staff just lost you a lot...

Omg I just had like the best croissant sandwich ever this little unexpected kind of commercial appearing café. I’m a dog walker for somebody who lives in the buildings across the street in this newly developed northwest waterfront area. I just popped into this cafe because I was starving and they had big posters With delicious looking bagel and croissant sandwiches all over the sidewalk. Their marketing worked on me, Because I came in and they were really kind and didn’t have any problems With me requesting a special order of sandwiches on a different bread, without meat. I make my own cheese and tomato breakfast for lunch sandwiches all the time and I’m very particular with lots of mayo and everything rest like salt and pepper on the tomato and I swear every element of this sandwich from Le Petit café was perfect and dressed to taste. Service was the tiniest bit frosty, but like I said, I really appreciate them being accommodating with my order And making a delicious sandwich and at the end of the day that’s what...

We had a berry and cheese danish that was absolutely delicious would have been alittle better warmed up but still so good. The service is so quick and every one working there was very kind. We got three sandwiches to split to get a taste of everything. The food was absolutely amazing the mozzarella and pesto sandwich was incredible, the sweet and sour brie was just the best of both worlds and my only complaint would be the last sandwich was the prosciutto sandwhich it lacked flavor the sundried tomatoes were the dried ones and I feel if they switched those ones out for the sundried tomatoes that are kept in olive oil in jars it would really pull that specific sandwich together. Overall amazing experience, the coffee was so strong and flavorful also!! Definitely try it out!!

Ordered through doordash, I've been to their location in Happy Valley and loved it. Even better here. Owners, please make capers an option! Though I completely respect the balsamic twist on the lox bagel. This bagel is a MONSTER. I added extra lox and tomato. Also shout-out to the amazing worker(s) who made my food and especially to who made my drink. I ordered a doppio espresso with oat milk, and yes that's basically a cortado. This person knows their stuff. On receipt it says Cassidy, so if that's you, then thank you! Absolutely perfect. Hugs.

This French-inspired coffee shop in Portland is a must-visit. Portland has no shortage of amazing coffee shops, but this one has to be on your list. From the carefully chosen coffee mugs and chairs to the background music and the friendly smiles of the staff, every detail is meticulously thought out. Everything together creates a lovely ambiance. They use only the highest quality coffee (Nossa Familia), and their barista is incredibly skilled!! We’ll definitely be back! P.S. don’t forget to pin📍where you’re from on the map inside the cafe 😊
