I cannot tell you enough about this amazing place! The decor is very minimal but nicely done. There are covered picnic tables outside or you can eat inside and the customer service is outstanding.
Now let's talk about the food! It is so incredible. To be honest I can only talk about the Pork Pad Thai because that's what I had, but it was the most flavorful Pad Thai I have had in my whole life. I will say the pork was a little dry which was slightly disappointing but the flavor made it so that I didn't even really care! They also give you a very generous amount of food. Chances are you will have leftovers to take home! I will be going back to try so many other dishes. We also had Thai tea which was excellent. If you are in Portland I highly suggest checking out Sawasdee. Oh, and if you are with a group of people and some don't like Thai food there's also a taco truck, that smelled really good, in the parking lot of the Thai restaurant!
The only downside is you have to park on the street. There's a lot of construction going on and parking...
Read moreWhere do I even begin… This place is by far the best Thai that I have had in Portland and honestly maybe anywhere.. My favorite fried rice was in Corvallis at a place called Tar N Tip. I tried for years trying to find a better or even comparable fried rice, and I could never find it.. Until now!!
The flavor is perfect, the rice isn’t sticky, perfect amount of vegetables to rice, every piece of rice is independent of the next grain of rice, it’s not too oily but it’s oily enough that isn’t not dry. Everything was cooked to perfection!! I am beyond impressed.
I can say that the fried rice at Sawasdee is the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been searching for a long time! I will be coming back as much as possible! I have to try one of...
Read moreThe food here is fantastic and always super fast even when there's a line standing out on the sidewalk. I always end up getting the pad thai with pork at medium spicy, but that's just on the edge of being too spicy for me so I order a cup of peanut sauce on the side to tame it down a bit. The portion sizes are large enough that they could be cut in half for a single meal; that said, pricing is on par for this neighborhood, about $10-$13 per meal.
One time I grabbed my order and immediately dropped my cup of peanut sauce on the group. The guy at the counter was nice enough to hand me another free of charge - very much...
