Meskel Ancient Ethiopian Restaurant — Restaurant in Portland

This is a brand new business run by the kindest couple. They are a new small business running a take-out and delivery restaurant. The food has large portions. I got a Yeatkilt Dibliq and Siga Wot (meat combo) and the Tikil Gomen (cabbage, carrot, and potato) along with two mango/avocado/raspberry spris. Like many Ethiopian restaurants, the portions are large and I ate that for lunch, dinner, three other meals, and I still have leftovers. Reheating the food works well and it's just as tasty if not tastier than when I got it.

As someone who loves Ethiopian food, I think what sets Meskel Ancient Ethiopian Restaurant apart from the others is the level of warmth and kindness I was shown by the owners of the restaurant. They told me that their kids used to go to a school near where I work and about starting the new business. All the food was delicious. I got enough for more than one meal. I will definitely go there again. Everything that was produced was authentic Ethiopian. Extra care is taken to make sure the food ingredients are natural and there are no fake ingredients. So it's very healthy to eat regularly. The special kind of bread is great to use for scooping up the food if you want to eat it like they still do in Ethiopia. The delivery was also very timely and courteous. I also talked with Martha the owner and cook and she is the kindest person you will find. I hope she can expand this business so more people can experience...
