Was waiting for the streetcar and went in for just a glass of water as it was a hot day with a heat advisory warning. Bartender greeted me and gave me a glass of water, but as I didn’t have ID (im 28) she said I had to sit down in the under 21 section of the establishment. Ok, no problem I go sit at the cafe bar and the waitress starts grabbing a menu I told her i won’t be having anything just the water. She gave me a weird look and came back a minute later again asking so I reiterated I’ll just be having water then made a joke unless you have free coffee. She goes to the bartender I overhear her say “I’ll handle it.”. Bartender comes to me and says we don’t serve free coffee. And I say yeah I know it was just a joke I’m just waiting for the streetcar so I came in to drink some water. She then explains to me if I’m not buying anything then I have to drink my water and leave so I say ok. The bartender was all right at least she gave me some water but the waitress with the short hair and looked to be about 40 y/o came off as unwelcoming, rude, and with her nose in the air before she even knew I wasn’t going to order anything. I have been to many bars and just gotten water while killing time before an appointment or something, and none of them ever acted like this. If that’s their policy, fine they can say that and let me know from the start I would have left right away but there was no sign and wasn’t explained anything about policy they simply said if you’re not buying anything you have to leave like I was causing a problem. A little grace would have been nice, instead seemed like the waitress thought she was too good to even talk to me had to get someone else to talk to me as if I was a problem. I came here to see the inside and maybe come back as I work close by but I definitely will not be coming back I’ll make sure to not and the waitress does not belong in customer service with an attitude like that which you can immediately see on her face as soon as you walk in it wasn’t busy in the slightest i wasn’t causing...

I have given you a excellent review previous to this one until I did an Uber order on Monday night and right after I ordered I called right back to you people to cancel my order and your employee told me I needed to contact Uber so I did immediately and you people and Uber charged me 75.00 for a cancelled order that you had not even began preparing it was barely accepted and when I tried to explain to your employee to not accept the order or to cancel it immediately she said I had to cancel it on the Uber app now this was done within 2 minutes tops then I got charged for the whole order my question to you people is why wouldn't you tell me that I might just want to keep the order because I was going to be charged regardless but no instead I'm getting really horrible customer service from Uber all's they text me is order not eligible for a refund and they put resolved I will never use them or you people again because you people or Uber should tell the customers to take the order instead you expect people to read the cancelation policy and last time I was charged a cancellation fee but not charged for the whole order so I contacted your manager yesterday and she was pretty rude alls I got was the blame game I am very disappointed in uber eats and im very disappointed in you people for not telling uber to refund me they are paying you for food I never received so for your dishonesty and poor customer service I will never order from you again and I will never use uber eats again and I will let people know how dishonest you are I cant believe you people I would have given you a zero but I thought I would be nice .It's so weird how you people and Uber have all of these rules for customers to play by but if you people or Uber take a extra long time to deliver an order but we the customers just have to wait I cancelled a order before and never got charged anything .Dishonesty and poor customer service will get you no place but a...

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Me and my girlfriend went here because it looked nice and food looked good. As we arrive it was fairly empty we found a table and sat down, it took a server 10 minutes to even greet us, and let me just say the way they greeted us wasn’t ACCEPTABLE. I’ve been a a server for 2 years and have never acted the way your server acted last night. After she greets us she says “what do you want” I replied “water, and I’d like to order if that’s fine” she then replies “well I just said what do you want” I say okay and order. We ordered one steak quesadilla and one medium cooked steak with baked potatoe and vegetable medley. The people in the booth in front of us got there food quite quickly, us on the other hand had to wait a WHOLE HOUR for the server to even come back and say “hey kitchen is a little backed up it might take a little longer than expected” but NOOOO. she said “we’ll keep in mind there is other people here not just you” I replied okay well can you please take a look at the tickets and give me an estimate because I’ve now been waiting an hour and no food. She comes back and says yea you got about 3-4 tickets ahead I said okay can you please just cancel it because I’m very hungry and will just eat somewhere else. She proceeded to try to stop me saying I can’t leave and she’s calling security. Mind you we only ordered waters to drink and never drank it and NEVER RECEIVED OUR FOOD. we got there @8:40 and left @9:55 still with nothing to eat in our stomachs . Horrible they were the same way with another black customer that came in. I’ll most definitely never be coming back and telling everyone how your...

I was with a recent transplant who been living in Portland was just over a year and I asked them what the most Portland restaurant they could think of and this is what they thought of. He gave me a good heads up, don’t expect amazing hipster whatever boujie diner food, but get ready for greasy, good pub food at a place that stays up late and with that in mind this place met all my standards. The inside was clean but dated but that adds to the charm of the place. Tons of old photos and random things are on their walls to keep those with ADD busy, the booze is a cheap along with the food and it’s open late. They do have healthier options as I got my grilled cheese sandwich with soup instead of fries and it was delicious. Wasn’t spectacular or super unique but it was good, the atmosphere great and it felt like a Portland spot. This place is where your father went if he was a hard worker who needed some cheap eats and booze after work. I was happy with it, food met my expectations for a dive and I he atmosphere and service when I was there was great which is really why you’d want to come here. This place is definitely what I imagined Portland would be and I enjoyed my food and Beer there

It was 10pm, hanging out with awesome friends, and My Father's Place's breakfast menu is exceptional! Pancakes were the best I've tasted in months! Although my taste buds were outraged by the suppleness of its texture and insulted by its perfect balance of flavors, I kept eating. If that wasn't bad enough, my mouth was straight-up nutted by the rich hot maple syrup and whipped butter in a flanking position so OP, that i had to wash it all down with another Guinness! I had the short stack btw (pictured), and it kicked my a$$, with me doing the splits on it at the end. I regret every decision I've made to avoid this place like a plague, and rightfully so, the person who I thought was the bouncer was just some guy who admired I.D. holograms and liked to play with his pocket flashlight. Overall, the atmosphere is your typical dive bar vibe, with a 5 star chef in the back! I kept the atmosphere rating to 1 because they earned it, and should be proud of such an achievement! Bring friends and tip everyone there!

Iconic Portland dive bar/restaurant. They serve great comfort food at bargain prices. They're almost always open (7am-2am). My Father's Place opened in 1978 and still run by the same family. But that location has been a bar for over 100 years. My daughter had a Reuben sandwich. The meat tasted very good. I had the chicken fried steak with gravy and O'Brien's (hash browns with peppers and onions). It came with eggs and a biscuit. We ordered a couple pieces of bacon because we heard it was so good. That's a lot of food! Everything tasted great. The bacon was excellent. The bar is a dive bar. The only sweet vermouth they have is Gallo. 😱You won't get a craft cocktail here nor did I expect to. They do have three different types of blood Mary's: cilantro and garlic, bacon infused, and habanero. I opted for the habanero. It was just okay. I'll just order a beer next time. There's street parking only and you have to work to find a spot. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. ✌🏼
