Never Coffee — Restaurant in Portland

First time trying Never Coffee after doing some research and yuzu latte caught my eye. It was close to the hotel I stayed at in the pearl district, so I decided to enjoy a short walk and see what I can f . Located in downtown Portland and is a small coffee shop nearby Powell's City of Books and Blue Star Donuts! . It's spacious cafe enough for a coffee date or a study/work spot. Service was friendly and explained their coffees selections. This is a fun, colorful, and fantastic coffee shop conveniently located next to Dolly Olive . This cafe is colorful and cute, minimalistic, and cozy interior with limited seating. Place wasn't that busy on a Sunday morning around 10 AM, there were probably a total of 6-8 people in the entire coffee shop. . I had the yuzu salt latte (w almond milk). It was fragrant and slightly savory and kind of weird combo like oregon hehe. Yuzu & Salt latte was more on the bitter/tart side, but it would definitely be perfect for someone who enjoys a strong, bitter coffee taste. As a black coffee drinker, this drink was great because it wasn't sweet. The salt made the end notes more smooth. The yuzu was strong enough to taste but not overly powering. It was a one of a kind of latte I have tried, that you won't normally find. This is why it makes this coffee shop stand out for me and will come back and try other drinks. Never Coffee is on my top 10 list of coffee shops in Portland.

Been here so many times! The vibe inside is groovy and chill, bright and modern great place to hang out or get some work done. Also, whoever is running the Spotify playlist don’t stop, your music taste is excellent.

They have a full selection of espresso, coffee(they make their own), and tea drinks. But, unfortunately, no food.

If you are more adventurous and like trying new things their signature lattes have some very different flavors profiles that you might seem skeptical of (I was) but they just work and they bring a nuance to how coffee can be made and taste. Flavors like tart cherries, yuzu, pepper, dark chocolate, black licorice! So yummy!

I really really like their signature lattes. The Oregon is my go-to! It’s hoppy, creamy, buttery caramel goodness but you can still taste the espresso so it’s not overly sweet. Just how I like it.

If that is not your thing, they have the classics too.

This place is small-ish so it might hard to find a seat but they have outdoor seating as well. This isn’t your gas station coffee so you will pay a bit more for your drink but I expect that anytime I get a coffee...

Update (Sep 2021): To be honest I was a little disappointed by my latest visit. The baristas weren't as friendly and chill as I remembered. They've got some new merch in store though, I still love the brand.

Original (Feb 2021): Of all the (great) coffee shops in Portland, Never isn't the one that I go to the most often during the time I call this city home, but it's surely the one I will miss the most and always come back to. It's creative, fun, delicious, their five-color visuals and excellent special flavor coffee NEVER fail to make my day.

This westside location is just as cute as the Belmont store and has more space inside. Two of the five special flavors are different from Belmont. I had a Yuzu & Salt latte and loved it! I had a fantastic experience and even had a nice chat with the friendly and helpful barista who told me a little more...
