Visiting the area for our anniversary and randomly decided to try out Tara Thai. The customer service is 5⭐️ Alone! They are doing a wonderful job with keeping everyone safe with the pandemic. Lots of sanitizing. Gave our table a fresh wipe down right before we sat down, lots of available hand sanitizer and cute reminders of social distancing. Outdoor seating is great with big heaters and cute lights with overhead cover. The food was very affordable and delicious. 50.00 for two appetizers, two main entrées, one Thai tea and one alcoholic drink. We ordered the pad se ew’ and chicken pad Thai. The chicken pad Thai heads up was delicious but had a different sauce on it than I have normally had at Thai restaurants. Not really a peanut sauce but it was DELICIOUS to say the least! We would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to...

I've been loving Thai food lately so I had to add Tara Thai to the list of places tried. I though the service was attentive and informative. I think it was the owner; she was awesome and took great care of me. I ordered my traditional Tom Yum soup and the "number 10" which was veggies, chicken and peanut sauce. (It's a good beginners dish to those new to Thai) I was looking for lots of veggies so the #10 got the job done. The Tom Yum soup was good; I should have asked for spicy though (my fault; I said I was new to Thai food so they probably went easy on me) Overall is was enjoyable. The patio seating was awesome and a surprisingly large space. I'll be back to try another...

This restaurant is in the building where Paley‘s place had been for the 30 years I’ve lived in Portland. At Paley’s you could always expect a great continental-themed meal, great service, and a lovely evening.

Of course, that has nothing to do with the new restaurant. Tara Thai Northwest is your standard high-end Thai food restaurant. Nothing special, and nothing interesting about the dishes to set it apart from any other Thai restaurant you’ve been to, but a lovely building, pretty good service, and standard Americanized Thai food meals well executed.

Nothing to go out of your way for, but not a bad place to have some Pad Kee Mao or...

Tara Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in town. The staff are absolutely sweet and accommodating and kind. I went with family who are vegetarian and the lovely staff member that helped us made sure that they were given vegan sauces and food was completely fish sauce and egg free for them. She was absolutely the sweetest, I wish I could've given her a hug! Super nice ambience, too, and their food is consistently amazing. I had the Pad Ka Praw, with ground chicken and fried egg at the Hot level. It had pleasant warmth and heat to it. Super delicious! The fried egg is an extra few cents but worth it!

This is a long standby that doesn’t disappoint when you are in NW PDX. Pictured is the Phad Thai with Tofu and Phad See Ew with Chicken. Great outdoor seating when it’s nice. Beautiful nights on the porch with ample seating. There is a very old tree that is truly gorgeous. Homemade peanut sauce. Not from a jar folks. The dressing on the house salad is so yummy and again homemade. This is a family business that strives to make sure customers are happy. They take care in making food accommodations to help you enjoy your meal without sacrificing flavor. Thanks for the wonderful meals year after year.
