Went to watch the Timbers away game on TV. Found a place to sit and looking through the menu while waiting to order. Soon noticed nobody taking orders and only a bartender. It was confusing being my first time there for a Timbers away match. I asked the bartender if I order here at the bar? She said she's the only one working. I replied no problem please take your time but she didn't seem to hear that and went on about the wing contest. I said that's fine but she continued about broken glasses being more important. At this point I knew she was overloaded and back away from the bar. The people at the table next to us saw the interaction and knew they weren't going to get good service. I decided I can watch the Timbers away game somewhere else and not deal with an angry over worked bartender and we left the bar. While we were walking outside we could hear the bartender shout out the door at us with a sarcastic voice to have a nice night. Apparently she went around the bar to the door to shout at us instead of helping other customers waiting at the bar. That made me realize leaving the Cheerful Bullpen was the right thing to do because not only was the bartender overworked but mental. I have choices and Cheerful Bullpen and a mental bartender will not be a part...
Read moreLast night my boyfriend and I went to the cheerful bullpen for the first time during the Timbers game. We went, ordered drinks and asked if we could sit outside to look at the menu etc. I tried to go back inside after a bit to ask a question and a woman named Amy hollered out at me from the store area. She accused me of “sneaking in” and said I needed a membership. when I apologized and said we had never been there before she repeated herself extremely rudely. A waitress that was near looked at her and I said “well okay, how do I become a member?” She said”you have to go online” I asked for the Wi-Fi password and she said nothing and just said “well you can’t do it now” Amy was so rude and condescending that My boyfriend then went in and asked what the membership included and said she was nasty with him also. We sat down and asked two girls sitting with us. They said she was extremely rude with them as well. It left us in an impossible spot. We left before ordering dinner. Really uncomfortable, humiliating and unfortunate since we live in the neighborhood. We will never go back.I understand the games are stressful but Folks who are trying to enjoy their evening can be treated...
Read moreTerrible experience. I went in to to watch a football game with some friends. We were very hungry and ready for a few beers. It took about 20 minutes just to get a server to to come to our table, even though the bar was practically empty and there were two servers just hanging out. I ordered a beer but my friend said she would want later. I did get the beer but then the server just walked off-- never dropped a menu and didn't come back... We would have left but the game had already started-- eventually went to the bar to get food but was told that we couldn't order there because we were in "Abby's" section. It took an hour to put a basic order in-- I'm not exaggerating. We never did get menus and my friend never got her drink. Plus it was freezing in the bar-- I barely made it through the game, I was so miserable. I'm a server, too, so I am very sympathetic to people working in the service industry- but this was pathetic. I definitely won't be going back-- which is sad because it's right down the street from where I live and I really wanted the Bullpen to be my regular place to chill with friends, watch sports, and have...
