I had been following the trap kitchen on IG and wanted to stop by so finally, as it was on my way home one night, I finally did! I was hesitant because it was an hour til closing but the moment I pulled up and parked, a couple leaving greeted me, wished me well and went along their way and I immediately knew this was a good place, with a good vibe and good people. I walked up to the food cart and noticed the staff sitting at a table, I went to check out the menu and was immediately greeted by chef, running down the menu with me and helping my indesicive brain choose! After a reminder that the trap Mac isn’t available often I went for the friend chicken plate which came lemon garlic broccoli, trap Mac and three pieces of chicken. Truth be told- I’ve never cared for fried chicken! But I knew if I was gonna give it another shot it would be at the trap. When I got home and dug in I was very pleased! The chicken was spicy and delicious with the perfect crunch. The broccoli was so flavorful and perfectly toasted and of course- the trap Mac did not disappoint. I’m already planning my trip back for those pineapple bowls! If you are wanting some quality comfort food- you gotta go to the...
Read moreMe and the honey decided to give this place a try after seeing all the Facebook and Instagram comments about this place. For those of you who remember the original taco house past 82nd/Fremont this food cart is right next to it. One man banging the pots and pans and taking the orders at the same time so there was a wait to get the order in but honey! This place lived up to the hype.I had the fried rice with chicken and shrimp. I could only eat half of it before I got full. Honey had the TK Rich Boy and he enjoyed the messy sandwich experience but loved loved loved the fries. I'm not sure of the seasoning they use but it definitely had lemon in it. I've read some of the reviews and I personally think the prices are right up there with most food carts in the Portland area and when you add in seafood it's not going to be cheap. The cook ,in my opinion, cares about putting out a quality product and will wait to take the next order after he's given your food amble attention. And I want my food getting all the love it deserves. So are you going to wait? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Yes. Will I...
Read moreI’m not one to give low start reviews. My cousin form miles away told me about this place “in my city” I hadn’t ever heard of, so they open at 11Am.. we’re here at 10:30 ( I know, we were in the neighborhood ) but after 11:05 we pull up and the doors still not open. Person there says it’s gnna be 15-20min. So we wait. 25 min later. They say it’s gnna be another 30-45 minutes.... man... they’re lucky my cousin is not from here and he really want to try their poppin food. But after we grab a snack somewhere else and come back. They tell us to wait another 15 minutes, takes them 5 minutes to take our order and another 15 to make our food.
But ayee, I’ve came back to this review and gave them another star because food was good and I’d eat there again for sure.
