Hard to imagine finding such an upscale establishment in the heart of the industrial Central Eastside district, but this is one portion of the city that has continued to surprise me of late. After a long afternoon of playing with the little one at OMSI, a refreshing cup of tea (iced or otherwise) was just what we needed, myself ordering the former (an iced Exceptional black) and my wife the latter (a cup of Autumn Leaves).
Sitting on the elevated patio on what is likely to be the last of the sunny afternoon weekend days this year, sipping our tea and enjoying each other's company, my wife and I contemplated our infrequent consuming of tea, and how that is something that needs to be rectified, for both our enjoyment and our good health. We both agreed that a change was in order, and some tea was promptly purchased, in the hope of shaking up our nightly pre-bed rituals and hopefully ushering in a new era of deep, restful sleep.
Although some of the loose leaf can be ludicrously pricey here, the quality is top notch, and any teetotaler would be wise to shop here first, instead of settling for some off-shelf...
Read moreThe full name is Steven Smith Teamaker. I thought I was at the wrong place at first.
Purely from the exterior, you may be a little disappointed. When I first stepped out of my car, this place looked pretty mediocre, but once you walk in you'll notice that it has a factory floor in the back and doubles as a tea house with macarons and other assortments. I could see myself taking a date here or just going to study (and of course buying foods and drinks).
I had the smash mouth drink, a seasonal drink. I thought it was going to be plain like tea that I make. Boy, was I wrong. The smash mouth was fizzy and just had the right amount of sweetness to it. Definitely recommend checking it out before it gets swapped out.
P.S. if you're leaving and decide to drive towards water ave and a train starts passing by, find an alternative to getting to your next destination if possible because that train is long (that's what she said about me and it's true ;). I ended up taking the Hawthorne bridge to get back to Beaverton after waiting...
Read moreThe place is great and product is fantastic, but there should be a better costumer service to non English speakers. Instead of assuming that personnel were treated rude by listening at a translator device which is used to communicate and most of the times this one may not be accurate sometimes, please be more understanding! Also, If the costumer is asking why there is a price change on your products, you guys should try to clarify the question. Your employee just spoke English and made this person more confused.
You guys need to work on Root Cause Analysis and find a better solution for these situations because telling an old person that is not longer welcomed in your shop can be mentally devastating when this person doesn’t speak English and still is trying to make sense out of the situation!
At the end of it you guys humiliated this person and now this person effectively just had a mental breakdown. Thank you Smith...
