Honestly one of the roughest ihop experiences I've had, and I've seen some crazy stuff happen at an ihop. The food was ok my omelet came out correct but the pancakes were a little gritty, when we received our side of bacon it was in a pool of grease with bits of hash brown stuck to it, and I'm pretty sure they took the bacon (after I asked for it to be crispy which i forgot when originally ordering) and reheated after sitting on our table for a couple of minutes. Now that I've covered the less intense subject, I'm gonna talk about the service which was not great if I'm putting it lightly. Marcela you were fast paced in the wrong aspects I and my fiance both being servers at more than one restaurant know that there is a distinct difference between speed and accuracy and just all around rushed, we were rushed but also forgotten about a couple times, she spent alot of time at the tables nearby chatting up, and by ihop ways at least from my employment experience at ihop the order she took to the table nearby could have easily been done in one trip if she simply would of asked her coworker who was sorting menus to follow her so she could manage all her tables. We waited roughly 5 minutes for some chocolate sauce for our pancakes because of said larger order. When our food was brought to us she got chocolate on both plates and all over the table. By the end of this experience when we asked for a refill, then before she made it far from the table decided to ask for a to go cup and our server set my cup down across the table from me with force then when she did bring our to go soda she didn't even bring a straw. All around we planned on speeding a little bit of time there and ended up leaving quickly due to an over all feeling of unwelcomenesss and disrespect...
Read moreI do not recommend eating at I Hop on Glassford Hill Road. We ordered breakfast at 10:00 P.M. The restaurant only had two other customers seated. When our food arrived, it was cold, every item on our plates. All three of us ordered the same breakfast, cooked the same way. Our meals consisted of 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon, silver dollar sized ham, 2 small pancakes and one slice of french toast. The hash browns tasted old, the pancakes and french toast, were tasteless, rubbery and flat. Our over easy eggs we're so cool, the yolks were congealed. The whole meal was pretty tasteless and very unappealing. The food obviously is cooked ahead of time and sits around for a while. Each plate cost $13, it certainly was not worth the cost. We noticed our server was the only employee in the restaurant, so we asked him "are you the only one working?" He said "yes, it's often that way" he then stated "He is the cook, server, cashier, cleaner, as well as the assistant manager" Now we know why the food quality suffers. Generally we receive a much better breakfast at Denny's, up the road, but they were closed, so we thought we'd try IHOP. We were not pleased with the food, so we will not return. I will say the one positive, was the only employee that was there, was very kind. We did not tell him we weren't happy with the food, it was obvious, this employee was doing his very best with what he had to work with. To be wearing all the hats in a restaurant is extremely difficult. We did leave him $25 tip because he was a wonderful server, he had a smile on his face the whole time. He didn't sit down or leave once, while he waited for the patrons to eat, he was wiping down tables and chairs. We left the restaurant happy...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came here for lunch and our server (Charlie) was terrible. Being that we are both servers, I know what it’s like to do a good job and listen to customers to efficiently serve them. He rushed our order and spoke to us with shortness and a completely disinterested and disconnected manner. Did not bring out all the drinks we ordered and made an excuse for how long it took to make a milkshake. Slammed down the coffee on our table and it splashed out of the cup and then slammed down a tray on an empty and dirty table just a few over from us to serve another table. He then took the order from said table that had been seated after us and then came back for ours. When our omelets came out one of them was wrong and when I tried to explain what was missing I was brushed off and told that’s what he (my fiancé) ordered. I had to explain that my fiancé had asked for no “bell peppers not for no peppers at all” and that poblano is different from bell peppers. Rather than remaking it we received the missing ingredients on a plate and were told “this should’ve been inside but apparently wasn’t” Our vanilla shake was not blended hardly at all, it had huge chunks of ice cream. When we asked for water he brought one glass and set it on the table and quickly walked away. We decided to leave and were not charged which was greatly appreciated as we did not finish even half of our food. We also watched him be harsh and bit rude with the hostess seating his tables. We couldn’t hear what they were saying but it was clear he wasn’t pleasant to work with. We normally enjoy our time at this restaurant, but if we come back and Charlie is serving us again, I will be asking for a different...
