Yavapai Mattress Warehouse aka Bold Beds — Hotel in Prescott Valley

My wife and I moved to the area and needed a new mattress and box spring set. Looked at the Yelp reviews and found Yavapai Mattress Warehouse and was impressed with the reviews. I like to buy local and buy American if I can and this place seemed to fit both categories. Went to the shop which is in a small industrial building a block off RT69. Pretty unassuming place and not the easiest to run across if you weren’t looking for it. Was greeted by the husband and wife owners who asked us some basic questions and our preferences. We were taken to their small showroom and the husband showed us a couple of options and explained the differences with each. Definitely a no pressure environment as we went back and forth, testing and retesting each one. He came back a couple of time to see if we had any questions, but left us to try out and discuss the pros and cons of each. He did show us a different style of foam mattress we hadn’t considered initially and explained why it was so different and expensive. We tried it out and it was an interesting option. He came back, asked us out opinions and offered to sell us the floor model at a very attractive price with an adjustable base included. (Something we hadn’t thought about initially). In the end we decided on a more traditional firm pillow top mattress and went with a mid-range adjustable base. We spent less than we budgeted and got more than we planned for. The shopping experience was low key and enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a nationally advertised, name brand mattress and want to play the “sale price” game, look elsewhere. YMW sells quality, made in the US products that are every bit as good as the big guys, without the sales pressure and markup. They are a local family owned business that believes in customer service and the personal touch. My only complaint is that I won’t need another mattress anytime soon and will miss the excellent experience.

Terrible experience. Bought a Scott Living/Restonic mattress and almost immediately the mattress began sinking, not to mention so uncomfortable that we now sleep in another room.

The Yavapai Mattress owner refused to offer a refund (they did offer for us to buy another, more expensive mattress) and the manufacturer denied our warranty claim. Ridiculous. We feel shafted, to say the least. Nope - not willing to spend a dime more at this place.

I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere if you're seeking a trial period, a satisfaction guarantee, or a flexible return policy. 90% of mattress stores offer trial periods and/or satisfaction guarantees - this business does not and won't budge on it. I also think their off brand manufacturers are most likely producing sub-par quality products. Why would a mattress sink after 3 months? Why no trial period? We got the run-around on those questions.

Imagine buying a car and the salesperson says - “Sorry, you can’t test drive it before you buy it.” You’d be suspicious of the car and the dealership, right?

Tried contacting the Restonic company directly and got another runaround. They provided a contact at a place called “Adventure Mattress”. They won't answer calls.

The more I dig, the more I am discovering a layer of companies and people connected to this manufacturer and the retailer. Google "Restonic mattress issues" and you’ll see some pretty negative reviews similar to mine.

We regret dealing with Yavapai Mattress and Restonic. Recommend you shop elsewhere.

Update: An “independent” company was dispatched to assess the mattress. Took several calls and emails to get them scheduled. Took longer to get their report which was falsified by the technician. We are now moving forward with legal action. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND ALL WHO THEY...

I can't say enough good things about Yavapai Mattress Warehouse, they are by far the best I've ever dealt with. They have the perfect selection. Not too much so that you feel overwhelmed, but not too little that you feel like you don't have any choices. It seems like they really did their homework and brought in the best products in each style and price point. I trust that I got the best mattress possible for the price. Melodie was excited to share her knowledge and get my son in the bed that would be best for him, but I never felt pressured to actually make a purchase. In fact, based on my son's preferences and input, she suggested a mattress below my quoted budget and it ended up being perfect for him. Originally delivery was scheduled for a few days out, but they were able to tack it onto another delivery they had in our area that day! They absolutely did not have to do that, they just offered when they realized our address was nearby and double-checked everything would fit. Above and beyond customer service! Plus the delivery fee was half the price of every store we'd been to that day. They were also super kind and patient when my two younger kids got bored and noisy while I was focused on shopping. :) I would 100% return here for another mattress purchase, especially considering they are a local family owned business who are GREAT at...
