We stopped by last night (we live nearby and I’ve been anxiously awaiting opening day for a long time!) and ate our food too fast to take a picture! The employees were so kind, answered all of our questions, and gave us recommendations and samples of things. I loved the coconut mint sauce!! I highly recommend and I will definitely come back in the near future. Thanks for the great food and for coming to Federal Hill!

*edited 6 months later… still delicious!! They do a very thorough job explaining each of the options. I got tofu for my protein and YUM🤩 I might need to convince them to sell me just the tofu so I can eat it for lunch every day!! My husband got steak in his bowl and also said it was super tasty. I was sad when I finished my meal because it was so delicious and I didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend!

**Another edit, one month since that ^ one. Sooo yummy. Tried the chickpeas and lentils today. I’d probably rank it, tofu, lentils, then chickpeas. Chickpeas are barely behind, because I don’t believe jn ties!! Also tried the corn mango salsa. Super yummy, bright flavor and the chips are seasoned...

i love south asian food and i am so happy there's a new spot in federal hill for it. i ordered the chicken tikka bowl and the mini samosas. the place is sooo clean and i love their decor like their little high top seating has marble counters. they were playing covers of my favorite bollywood music and it created a whole mood. the food tastes so fresh and so seasoned but because they build your bowl with you, you can alter spice and taste levels. the servers are SO kind. they loved taking questions and sharing more information about their kitchen set-up and how they make everything from scratch. you can see them cooking while you order and eat. it's so gluten friendly too. this is a great place to bring friends with different dietary tastes or needs. i put both kinds of rice and salads on my bowl, and picked the cilanter coolada sauce which tastes like mint parsley chutney. the mini samosas were the perfect crunchy accompaniment and sooo flavorful in their little bites. the tamarind chili is like a sweet and spicy sauce to dip into. i can't wait to come back and also to cater them for my college...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cilanter Restaurant, a modern Indian American fusion gem. Their diverse selection of three rice bases—curry lemon rice, saffron rice, and quinoa rice with two types of lentils—is a unique touch. My personal favorite, the curry lemon rice, stood out with its tangy lemon flavor and the delightful essence of curry leaves.

The Indian chicken tikka showcased culinary genius, leaving a lasting impression. The mini Indian samosas, filled with spiced potatoes and complemented by tangy tamarind dipping sauce, were simply divine. What sets Cilanter apart is the option to choose unlimited toppings, allowing for a customized culinary experience.

A standout feature is their selection of six different sauces, with the flexibility to choose two per order. Notably, they generously offered more than two sauces at no extra cost. These house-made sauces, free from preservatives, contribute to a natural and delightful dining experience. Cilanter has undoubtedly become my go-to place, and I look forward to many more culinary...

Vibrant, strong flavors and fresh food. Cilanter is exactly like an Indian Chipotle, but the food tastes even cleaner. I ordered a chicken masala bowl ($11) and got saffron rice, fajita peppers, purple cabbage salad, onions, cilantro and fried chilies. The sauces definitely elevated the bowl. Mine were Kashmiri chili and Cilanter coolada. After mixing everything together, I dug in and was very satisfied by the amount and flavors. I also ordered 8 mini samosas for $3.50. They were crispy and fun to dip into the tamrind chutney, but I’d much rather prefer regular large samosas. They pack more food, taste and crispiness. Awesome spot, very good value and a friendly staff.
