The Cathedral is absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking architecture has been maintained and restored throughout the years, and the structure is truly an architectural marvel for anyone of any denomination to appreciate. The ornate design is paralleled only by the acoustics which lend to a truly magical experience when listening to voices and instrumentation in concert or during Catholic mass. The pipe organ is a marvel in and of itself! Numerous performance groups hold concerts at the Cathedral, and Roman Catholic Mass is celebrated weekly. Parking is limited and it is best to use the metered parking on the main road or to pay to park in a lot. Wear appropriate shoes for walking on cobblestones and uneven sidewalks, and scarves and gloves are a must in the winter months when the side streets leading to the Cathedral act like a frigid wind tunnel. There is ample seating for just about any event, due to the building's immense size. Bathrooms are clean and fully accessible. An elevator is available for those...

A Breathtaking cathedral. Upon entering and seeing the feats of man for the purposes of worship, you are nearly driven to tears. The artistry throughout this cathedral is everywhere. We did not attend mass on Sunday, but rather walked around the inside perimeter and spent some time in silent prayer. That being said, the walk up to the cathedral is a very stark opposition to the cathedral. You walk through what appears to be cold war inspired low income/equal opportunity housing; the path up to the cathedral (from the east) has large broken slabs of marble, misplaced cobblestone, homeless sleeping alongside buildings, and litter. When you enter the very large courtyard outside the cathedral, you see much of the same aesthetic. If I didnt know better, I would say that this arrangement of opposites was...

My daughter was married Friday August 1. It was a very long road. First off, the communication was horrible. For a couple these days who wanted to be married in the church is not common. We are lifelong Catholics but they made it extremely difficult! Instead of being welcoming, this church made it difficult every step of the way. The rehearsal is a whole other story! Awful! We got off the trolley on the day of the wedding to an angry face. Not looking a us just saying “get in there”…… Now comes the ceremony, priest did not have on a mic. It’s a big church and the people could not hear the vows. We asked to have mics so people could hear. The church wonders why people are leaving the church. I’ll tell you why, STOP making it so difficult to get things done and...

Beautiful. Classic. Visually mesmerizing. Historic. Astounding organ. Fantastic stained glass. Interesting paintings. Wonderful marble. Old-style pews with heating ducts running down the center. Complicated walking routes for receiving the Sacraments in an orderly manner. Has parking. Easy to reach by way of RIPTA or walking. No bike rack that I have seen.

Lucky to have made it in. The Church was locked, but we ran into a sister who was going into the office, she contacted maintenance, and they let us in to pray as they cleaned the church. Was not let down, a gorgeous interior.
