Rhode Island Convention Center — Attraction in Providence

When I visited here for the Rhode Island Comic-con AT THE Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC), few things I liked. This place was large and spacious, Offered many rooms for the conventions topics. Otherwise was a clean facility with a unique and interesting building design. The food was decent, albeit a little pricey (not surprising). For alcohol, they ran out of angry orchard which is a little surprising for me that you just run out of something. Oh well, such is life. It was my wife that was disappointed. I still had my options.

Of course what I failed to comprehend was the security check point between the RICC and the Dunkin Donuts Center (DDC). You could go from the RICC to DDC with no problem. But to go from the DDC to RICC you had to pass through security again. The connector didn't allow any one outside to get in. This didn't make any sense. On the last day, the connector was made a 'one way' and people had to exit DDC, walk around the building, and enter through the main entrance to RICC. It was kind of silly/annoying/inconsistent.

But yes, there is security complete with metal detectors to pass through. I felt this wasn't too terrible an inconvenience to pass through as they got people through as quickly as possible.

Nice place , spacious, bright and convenient accessible parking ; went to auto show 2020 and all that were there were SUV,s and a few cars . What happened to the big auto companies , the cars of the show that were there were from Hyundai, and Kia, and they are great.They were the center of attention...!!!!! Those of us who still drive cars are grateful to the Korean automakers who just keep bringing out more and better cars for us to buy as the US automakers only care about their profits and making cars for China!!! Every day they announce another car leaving production. There were so many cars not there that it was not exciting at all except for those great Hyundai and Kia models that were innovative and stylish..!! ............ ?? Probably no 2021 Auto show this year ?but Kia and Hyundai just keep bringing more new cars to the market that are striking inside and out.. Sedans aren't going out just getting better and these two nameplates are filling in the voids left by the three big makers; GM, Ford and Chrysler...Thanks to the South Korean Automakers for all their great new cars... Today I went to the RV show being hosted by the Convention Center. In less than an hour I seen everything there to see! I paid $12 to get in and $15 to park. I honestly feel as though I have been mugged!!!

The place is clean and safe but as far as I can tell it is a complete and total rip off!!! I complained to the box office as I was leaving and even mentioned wanting a refund but told them I knew this would not be happening. To add insult to this I then was charged the mentioned $15 for less than an hour of parking!

What did I dislike so much? First, there were several RV brands not even represented. I also did not see a single truck camper! The brands I did not see were all from the better manufacturers. As it turns out these were the models I am interested in seeing.

If you want to spend $15 to park and $12 per person to get in and see some cheaply made toxic time bomb trailers and fifth-wheel campers knock yourself out! $12 for a ten-minute walk and all the formaldehyde fumes you can pollute your lungs with you can't do better than the Providence Convention...
