If you’re even thinking about visiting The Great Escape Room in Providence — stop thinking and go. Our group recently tackled the Presidential Bunker room, and it was one of the most thrilling, clever, and laugh-out-loud fun experiences we’ve had in a long time. From start to finish, the experience was engaging, creative, and honestly just so satisfying. A huge shoutout goes to Liam, who welcomed us right at the front, and April, who was our behind-the-scenes lifeline with perfectly-timed hints that made the game even more epic.

Let’s start from the top: when we arrived, Liam greeted us with a super friendly attitude and clear instructions. He was working the front as the cashier, but also gave us the full rundown of the game — explaining the rules, safety protocols, what to expect, and even giving us a few fun tips without giving anything away. Liam made us feel relaxed but pumped — like we were about to enter something important. And boy, we were.

Once we entered The Presidential Bunker, we were immediately blown away by how immersive the room was. The theming was spot-on — dim lights, old military decor, a desk that looked like it belonged to a Cold War president, codes scribbled on the walls, mysterious lockboxes, hidden clues, and even audio effects that made us feel like we were actually underground in a crisis bunker. The storyline was gripping: we had to stop a nuclear missile launch in under an hour before all chaos broke loose. It felt urgent, intense, but never overwhelming. It was the kind of pressure that made everything exciting and team-based.

As we got deeper into the room, the puzzles started getting more and more intricate. There were combination locks, logic-based clues, physical puzzles, and even elements that required teamwork across the room. Every time we solved something, we were yelling and high-fiving like we were in a spy movie. The room design was clever — not just random riddles but interconnected pieces that actually made narrative sense.

And when we got stuck (which happened a few times — no shame), April came to the rescue. Even though we never saw her face-to-face, April was our guardian angel behind the screen. Her hints were timed perfectly — not too early, not too obvious, and always just enough to get us thinking in the right direction. It felt like she was watching and rooting for us the whole time. We’d literally cheer, “Thanks, April!” every time a clue came through, because it was just that helpful and encouraging. She knew exactly when to intervene and when to let us struggle a bit — and that balance made all the difference. Honestly, April should be considered the MVP of our mission.

The final puzzle was absolutely nerve-wracking — in the best way. Alarms were blaring, the countdown was on, and we were frantically communicating and moving pieces into place. When we finally hit the last step and stopped the “launch,” the entire room erupted into celebration. We did it — with only a few minutes to spare! Liam met us outside and congratulated us like we’d just saved the world, and honestly, it felt like we had.

Afterward, we chatted a bit more with Liam at the front, who gave us some fun behind-the-scenes facts about the bunker room and told us about other rooms we could try next time. Super friendly, informative, and clearly passionate about the escape room experience. Between Liam’s excellent intro and customer service and April’s clutch support during the game, the whole night was a 10/10.

Whether you’re an escape room newbie or a puzzle-solving veteran, The Great Escape Room in Providence — especially The Presidential Bunker — is a total must. It was challenging but never frustrating, immersive but never cheesy, and most importantly, genuinely fun from beginning to end. And with amazing staff like Liam and April bringing the whole thing to life, it felt like we were part of something big.

I’d give this more than five stars if I could. Thanks again to April and Liam — your efforts made this an unforgettable night. We’ll definitely be back for another...

Unforgettable Birthday Adventure at the Escape Room!

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my daughter's birthday at the escape room, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The theme we chose, "Poker Night at the President’s Bunker," was thrilling and perfectly designed to keep us all engaged and entertained.

A huge shoutout to Liam and Dani, who were instrumental in making the day so special. Liam kicked off the experience with an excellent talk that immediately put our first-timers at ease, explaining everything we needed to know with clarity and enthusiasm. His passion for the escape room experience was contagious and set the tone for the adventure ahead.

As we delved into the mysteries of the President’s Bunker, the puzzles were challenging yet incredibly fun, sparking teamwork and creativity among our group. Dani was a fantastic guide, offering helpful hints when we needed them through the iPad, ensuring we stayed on track without giving too much away. Her support was perfectly balanced, allowing us to enjoy the thrill of solving the puzzles ourselves.

Thanks to the incredible team and the captivating escape room design, my daughter’s birthday was a memorable event that we will cherish forever. If you're looking for an exciting and unique way to celebrate, I highly recommend this escape room experience. It's a perfect blend of fun, challenge, and...

Immersion at its finest. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Great Escape Room for a networking event recently. At first I was indifferent about going, because it was a beautiful 80 degree day in Rhode Island, so locking myself indoors wasn’t necessarily on my top priority list. However, the minute we walked into our experience, we weren’t just locking ourselves in an escape room. No no, we were saving the country from a nuclear missile crisis from the confides of the White House Bunker. Our experience was challenging, but very fun. Forget a sunny day in Providence, for the hour we were locked in that room, we were heroes on a mission to save the country. I was more than pleased with my experience at the Great Escape Room and am looking forward to trying out the other 2 adventures they have in store for us. No matter the weather, rain 🌧️, sun ☀️, or snow ❄️, the Great Escape Room is an escape from reality…at least for the 60 minutes you’re locked away...

Awesome time! It was just the four of us (me, my wife and two teenagers) and we did the Haunted Hotel room. It was so much fun, and really cleverly designed. The host was great, too - he explained everything clearly when we arrived (how certain locks work, etc) and gave us an iPad which had the countdown timer on it as well as a button to request a hint. I love how the hint part worked... the host sends the hint to the iPad, and can then offer some clarification as he sees how you react to the hint. Even the hints were cleverly worded. We finished all of the challenges with 33 seconds left... our first-ever escape and we only needed two hints. It was a super-fun experience and each of us was able to contribute to the puzzle-solving. We're looking forward to doing this again.

I had a lot of fun trying to solve all the puzzles. We tried the president's bunker which was a little bit difficult because I do not know much of American history, much less all the presidents. But all in all the solution could be found everything in the room you just have to wrack your brains and decipher them. We were not able to solve everything and escape, provided that it was only 3 of us who went this time. I have a feeling that we will be more successful if there are more people, and the puzzle room could fit 10 people. The people who worked here were fun and very helpful, and the anteroom has everything you need, restrooms, some candy, some games that you could play while waiting. I will definitely be coming back and trying the other puzzles as well.
