Meeting Street Cafe — Restaurant in Providence

Used to go here once in a while for their awesome sandwiches a few years back. Their “thanksgiving“ was my favorite at the time, but all the others I’ve tried were so good too! They have a nice selection of baked goods...including gigantic cookies! As well as cafe drinks and more. This time was the first time I’ve tried breakfast at Meeting Street Cafe, and it was so so good! We ordered a (build your own) omelette with peppers, onions, ham, and cheese; which is basically a western I think. I usually order western omelettes at a place I’m having breakfast at for the first time. Everyone has them, and it gives me a way to evaluate them in a level playing field. Then I’ll try other things then next time. Ok, ok. We also ordered Lox Benedict which was great! Both meals looked and tasted amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and the home fries were especially good! This meal was super satisfying, and I really can’t wait to go back to Meeting Street and eat...

Food is on the pricy side, and mostly just OK. The cookies are giant and their salads are big too. I got three salads from one! However, the homemade fries needed salt big time. Hummus and veggie sandwich was disappointing. Hummus was grainy with a lot of whole chickpeas. I prefer smooth hummus, not chunky. And it was spread on so thick the bread was falling apart. I ended up scraping off enough for another use. Veggies were super skimpy, cucumber on one side, tomato on another. You should get a bite of everything together in a sandwich. I ended up adding my own tomato...

In short words. This place felt like home when I didn’t even knew it existed. Food was outstanding. I got the Steak & Cheese Hoagie sub with bacon and provolone cheese and let me tell you.. I Ate. It. Up. I left NOTHING on that place.

The food was so good that my friend ordered the Salmon skillet. Me not liking fish and stuff; tried it and it was so good that I ate the last piece that was on the table that my friend left🫣🥲.

The food was amazing. And the service was amazing. Prices are great for an every day breakfast and good joint. Would make this my every day...
