When I tell you that my experience was pure insanity I am not even a little bit exaggerating. I ordered thru the app for pick up. I always pay for several extra sauce cups I drove thru the drive thru to pick up my order. The guy at the window quickly handed me the order and I drove away.
I went home and when I finally got around to opening the bag none of the extra sauce cups were in the bag. Disappointing, but it happens. I called explained the issue and requested a refund for the items I didnât receive. The man on the phone told me he packed my order himself and put the sauce cups in the bag. I let him know they werenât there and, when he insisted he put them in there, I offered to send him a picture of what was in the bag. He said he could take my name down and give me a 20% discount next time I came in. I said I would prefer he just refund me for the items. He said sauce cups are 20% and he will give me that next time I come there. I indicated I donât come there often and prefer to just be given the money back. He said they would not be doing that and their policy is the 20% next time I come in.
I calmly asked if I could speak to the manager. The man replied he was the manager thatâs all he can do for me, per their policy, and then said bye and hung up on me. I was shocked. Not only did they mess up my order and refuse to give me my money back for items I didnât receive but then they hung up on me!? Is this real?
Feeling helpless, I decided to drive back. When I arrived, There was no staff visible for several minutes in the restaurant. I finally asked if anyone was there. A female employee appeared and I asked to speak to the manager. When he came out, I calmly but firmly asked why he hung up on me when I simply asked to be reimbursed for items I paid for but didnât receive. He pulled out a clipboard and showed me where he wrote down my name and 20% off for my next visit. This is the conversation that followed:
I said âbut I told you I donât come here often and I just want my money back and then you hung up on me.
He said âyes I hung up.â
I said, âyou donât think thatâs totally inappropriate? To hang up on a customer who is simply asking for money back for items not provided?â
To which he responded âThatâs our policy.â
I asked him âWait, itâs your policy to hang up on your customers?â
He said, âYes, thatâs our policy.â
I said âwhen a customer is asking for you to fix your error, it is your policy to hang up on them? I wasnât aggressive on the phone or rude or anything. I asked for you to refund my money for items not received.â
His response, âyes, thatâs our policy.â
I said âthat is wildly inappropriate and unacceptable.â
He then said, âyou need to leave the restaurant before I call the police for trespassing.â
đ¤Żđ¤Żđ¤Ż unbelievable. Youâd think I was screaming or swearing or threatening them, but I was not in any way shape or form. There werenât even any other customers there so it wasnât like I was making a scene in front of other customers or anything.
Fearing this man was going to try and get me charged with something by the police simply because I was asking for what was rightfully mine and calling out unprofessional behavior and horrific customer service, I too ended up calling the police.
I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM THEM THREATENING TO HAVE ME CHARGED?!?! And what did I do wrong???? It what universe is asking for your money back for items they didnât give you a problem??? And given that there is ZERO chance I am bringing my business back to an establishment who would hang up on me, that â20%â was worthless. I was getting ripped off. Then abused by them hanging up on me and ultimately threatened to be charged with trespassing. What is going on with customer service these days???
I did let the police know that I did not want to waste their time and asked they just confirm they hadnât actually received a call from the restaurant. They confirmed.
I will NEVER give my business to this place EVER again. Complete, disgusting insanity. Do...
Read moreFirst timer (read for brutal honest review)
Iâll split my review in 3 categories. Iâll rate the theme in part 1, the food in part 2 and the customer service In part 3. That way you only have to read what you care to learn and hear about
(Part 1 the theme) The Hawaiian theme was very creative. The workers say aloha when you walk in or something like that. Come to find out Aloha is short for hi in Hawaiian wich is what the restaurant is themed. If you were not told aloha you may still be able to recognize that the theme is Hawaiian though. One thing that may help is if they ditch the tile floor and use sand because that will be more accurate to the real life Hawaii. Theme rating C-
(Part 2 the food) I ordered a mini plate the kind worker helped me pick out options but I still picked out what I thought looked best. I ordered Pulehu chicken and teriyaki steak! The steak portions where very minimal and it tasted decent not the best steak ever but it was still yummy! The Pulehu chicken was even better which is surprising because Iâll take beef or chicken any day any time. The rice and mac was yummy. The sauce the gave me to use on my food was the best sauce I have ever had for this kind of food in my entire life. Not even exasperating or exaggerating. Food portions are very fair! Overall B+
(Part 3 customer service) The worker who served me was a fine young man. His name was Caleb! If you eat you must ASK FOR CALEB! He was tall, blonde, and had blue eyes. (But his pupil was still black) he had a large smile if he was happy. He was very obedient and well behaved. He didnât make any messes either. He happily helped me feel welcomed and made ordering easy for me too! I was hoping he would give me more steak then he was allowed too because the steak portions are small but he followed the rules of his job. And did what he can. He was just a very sweet kid. He looks strong too! He was good at his job. We then shared a laugh together. After he kindly and quickly got my food and helped me order he offered me a free cookie sample and I accepted. As he handed the sample to me I could feel the love he has for me (but just as a customer) looking back I can still too this day feel his love in my heart. When I was eating my food on the table which they do have the manger Checked to see how my food was tasting and also offered me a free cookie sample and I can feel his love too. It was just different then it was when I was helped by Caleb. The workers were very kind and the manager also was willing to offer me a job interview at one point when I asked if they where hiring. So remember to ask for Caleb and if you are a girl get his...
Read moreThis Mo Bettah's def has the best, most hardworking workers I have ever experienced in my life! I was so hungry and as I walked in, before I could even speak, Employee Caleb had already put everything that I wanted onto a plate that was fresh off the grill so that I didn't need to wait in line! He placed me at the table with their best view! It was almost as if he had read my mind!
As I was sitting there eating, I looked out the window to see Employee Caleb wiping the last bit of dirt off of my beautifully cleaned car that he had just polished. I cannot tell you how amazing it was! And super quick too! I didn't even know that was part of the Mo Bettah's service!
Then a few moments later, Employee Caleb came over to my table and told me that he had just sent out delivery for Mo Bettah's to the rest of my family to make sure they were fed too! And sure enough, My daughter texted me telling me that food from Mo Bettah's was delivered to our house for everyone there including all of her friends because she was having a massive party! The crazy thing is I never even mentioned my family, or even the party to Employee Caleb. He told me that if I needed anything else to let him know!
How amazing for such a company to have Employee Caleb! Give him a...
