While visiting Providence, I wanted to look for a different spot, so I searched for tea instead of coffee for once. And that’s how I discovered this location. It certainly lived up to it’s reviews. Well, they don’t have their own parking. There’s plenty of street parking nearby. They have indoor and outdoor seating while the outdoor seating is limited. There are lots of spaces to settle in and do work, or meet up with a group.
I arrived around 1 PM so it wasn’t really busy there was no line. it was also relatively quiet. I don’t even recall if they were playing music, but they definitely weren’t overloading you with sound. The decor was inviting with great pops of color and almost a Morrocan vibe.
I had plenty of time to look over the menu and decide what I wanted. Based on the reviews I knew I had to at least have a sandwich which they make with delicious naan bread. They allowed me to get a little creative by choosing the ingredients from a breakfast crêpe with egg and sun-dried tomato paste in the sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. I also grabbed a sweet guava crêpe to go and enjoyed a dirty chai. They have complimentary water, and a brewed tea of the day for you to try.
Thank you to Benji and team for helping me decide on the best choices. Next time I will certainly stay and enjoy, but I will say that everything I took to go stayed warm until I was able to eat it at home. I doubt that you could make a wrong choice from their menu in either food or drinks. I...
Read moreI am a huge fan of it's sister location, Elephant Room, so when my friend told me about the owners opening up another location, i was glad to with her to check it out. The atmosphere is totally different than Elephant; more of a light, open, modern feel, whilst Elephant Room has that "cozy, sit here and sip tea all day" feel. The food (crepes and salad) were exactly the same, which is great!!! I was trying to watch my diet (as always) so i ordered a salad with turkey but my friend, who ordered a savory (yummy looking) crepe, insisted/convinced me to share a desert crepe. My salad was great as usual, same as i have had at Elephant room. I tried a coconut flavored tea (different from my usual hot green teas) and i had it iced! I love it! Will have to have it again/try it hot. The sweet crepe ( i think it was berry) came out with the rest of the food, and i was kind of weary of it because it was topped with tons of whipped creme, which by the time we got to it, the creme had seeped into the body of the crepe. Pleasantly surprised that it was not too sweet; was delicious and very light! Will have to go back! Still love Elephant room though, it's like sitting in my living room with...
Read moreNow let me start by saying the tuna crepe I had was amazing as was the mocktail drink. However, it took the waitress over 20 minutes to even take our order. She kept walking past us and didn't acknowledge us for quite some time. It then took an hour and a half for two crepes to come out and the restaurant was not even busy. It was labor day so I understand if they were short staffed but we would have really appreciated an explanation. After waiting for over an hour I finally got frustrated and asked the guy working the register for a status on the food. He was apologetic and told me it would be no longer than 10 minutes but didn't explain why it had already been an hour. That kind of wait time is unacceptable and we wish they had offered something to make up for it, if not an explanation. We were visiting from out of town and were already short on time and figured crepes are quick and easy. It's disappointing that we had this experience since the food and tea were good (which is why I'm giving two stars...
