Bagel Express on Broadway — Restaurant in Providence

Really great bagels at a great price. Unfortunately, their bizarre policies and customer service means I will never go back to this location. I asked for 6 of the 9 everything bagels they had in the case and the woman behind the counter said there wasn't enough to sell me six because other customers may want some. She offered to sell me three everything and three of something else and I refused because everyone I was purchasing for had requested an everything. After a 5 minute back-and-forth she called the other location and asked if they would bring her some more everything in order to sell me what I was asking for. She also explained that their not even allowed to sell a dozen bagels which seemed completely irrelevant as I was asking for half that. As I left she told me I could smile because I got what I wanted. Not so sure what I wanted was to have to talk someone into selling me their product. If this store runs out of everything bagels so easily and they want to make sure they're available for all of the customers that want them, maybe they should carry more of that and less of the flavors they don't...

Picture this. It's during the week and you are taking the day off. You drop the kids at school and you are free. This isn't planned. You've got plenty to do but you want to treat yourself first. A sit down restaurant is going to take too long. Want to know where to go? This place. The bagels are FU$*ING amazing. I had the cinnamon raisin with the maple and the onion with the bacon chive, which is quite frankly my new fav cream cheese of all time. Then the coffee supplier comes in and offers to make me a latte?!? It was to die for. This place is a fricking gem, it's already popular, it's running out of bagels by 930 am and for good reason. Tom behind the counter is the guy you just want to chat up and shoot the $hit with. Really amazing...

My favorite local spot for breakfast. Service is amazing and staff feel like neighborhood buddies off the city block. They personalize each order to what you ask for with genuine kindness hard to find today. Observing other customers I noticed they treat everyone with the same kindness and local love! It's unexpectedly fresh and tastes better than any other bagel shops I've been in RI. Delicious farm fresh eggs in the "bacon egg and cheese bagel" sandwich I get every time!...the cinnamon sugar bagel toasted with a rich creamy salted butter is a great alternative to the pastries.
