š® Carnitas Don Alfredo: Where Tacos are a Lifestyle! š®
If I had a passport for flavor, it would be stamped so many times from Carnitas Don Alfredo that itād need extra pages! Iāve been salsa-dipping, guac-scooping, and taco-munching at this little slice of heaven for over a decade, and let me tell you, it just keeps getting better with age, much like a fine tequila.
First off, letās talk about the real MVP here: the carnitas. Picture this: succulent, juicy pork, slow-cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior thatās like a flavor fireworks show in your mouth. I swear, each bite is a tiny fiesta of its own! I could write a love poem about those carnitas, but Iāll spare you for now.
Iām convinced they sprinkle magic dust on those hand made tortillas tortillas because theyāre downright addictive.
But itās not just about the food, oh no! The vibe at Carnitas Don Alfredo is like a warm hug from an old friend. The staff? Theyāre basically family at this point. I walk in, and itās like a Mexican sitcom reunion. The laughter, the banter, I love it!
So, if you havenāt experienced the magic of Carnitas Don Alfredo yet, what are you waiting for? Grab your amigos, clear your schedule, and prepare your taste buds for a flavor fiesta like no other. Trust me, once you go Carnitas Don Alfredo, youāll never go back.

I went to this place on a recommendation from a friend of a friend, Never again will take somebody I don't really know's advice, 1st of all when you walk in you get the feeling that they're unorganized, And the people behind the counter are drinking beverages in front of the customers. So I'm looking around for a sign that tells you which meats they serve and how much is it per pound which I never found by the way, so I go ahead and order anyway, I ordered 2 pounds of Carnitas of various meats, And I order 3 packets of the homemade corn tortillas which in my option didn't have enough salt in tortillas, lBut the worst part is that I take my order home and find out that the carnitas are chopped up like ground beef practically, They cut them up like they're feeding old people with no teeth. You could practically tells them give me "whatever" because they chop it up so tiny that the meat is un identifiable from each other.. At no point did they ask me how do I want it chopped up, traditional Carnitas are chopped up into good size pieces that you go ahead and tear them apart yourself that way you can pick an cod what you like.. It was too expensive for garbage quality, and nothing but a big mess. I don't know how this place is still open.....

I grabbed a few tacos andāwowāthe handmade corn tortillas were warm and fresh, cradling heaping portions of perfectly tender carnitas that had just the right amount of crispy edges. Each bite was a mix of rich, savory pork, sprinkled with finely chopped onions and cilantro that added a fresh, zingy kick. And of course, a squirt of lime was a mustāit tied everything together like magic.
Whats great is you can get a handful of the handmade tortillas by themselves for like 2.50...perfect for my breakfast tacos I made the next day :D
Everyone was super nice, they had a heated outdoor seating, you could eat at the counter inside which I thought was nice for someone on the go, with a self serve coffee station, likely a god send for the breakfast crowed that comes in. This stand is a must-visitāitās an authentic, colorful slice of what Melrose Park has to offer in terms of perfect Mexican food that just hits the...
