La Baguette Bakery — Restaurant in Proviso Township

This bakery is open at 6 am. They also sell coffee and milk. Excellent variety of Mexican pan dulce, postres and American doughnuts, cakes. The best are the rather large Conchas, a light fluffy egg bread topped with a sugar confection. Empanadas, a turnover stuffed with pineapple, raspberry or (my favorite) sweet potato. It's best to take a walk around the self-serve cases first to see what hits you.

You start by taking a tray and tongs off the counter as you walk in. Open the cases and take what you want. Please reclose the cases when you've made your choice. When your selection is complete, take the tray and tongs to the counter, and the staff will pack up the choices and total the bill. The staff also speaks English and is helpful if you have questions. The selection is baked fresh every day at Mexican panaderias. The owners are very good at matching customer selection to production. In the early am, it's foremen buying for their crews, grandpas buying for families and others looking for a portable breakfast. Great service, clean facility, great baked good......

I have always gotten my cakes from here and this was the worst experience ever. $70 for a cake that I wont even know what it looks like because they don't have a trolls design. They make me come drop off the toys and then I ask for a picture because they don't have a design and they tell me it's $10 more so I end up paying $80 for a cake that I wont even know what it is going to look like & told to come back the next day to talk to the owner who designs the cakes. like I have all the time in the world to go back and forth whenever they please. this is honesly the last time I ever get an overprized cake from them when they don't even care about the customers needs...

Bad customer service. I was waiting in line to try and place an order for my sons cake and this customer cut me in line. One of the female employees saw it and ignored me completely. And i brought in pictures for the idea of the cake . She makes me choose a different . Then i asked if they can to the frosting decoration instead of the picture thing they do. She tells me no becasue they use a gel . But she didn't give me the option she just told me it has to be a picture. I ordered the 10 " cake and it was expensive just so i wont get what i wanted and bad service. The cakes and breads are delicious. But the service makes me want to...
