If I could give them ZERO stars I would!
I previously gave MOOYAH a 4-star rating. I have eaten here a handful of times since. Each visit became increasingly more horrible. I used to love MOOYAH, but I will not be going back.
Each time I had an excuse as to why my experience was sub-par. "They are really busy", "I had a large order", "Maybe the cashier didn't hear me right". But each time my experience sucked more and more.
I had previously decided that I would no longer eat there, as I was done with having poor experiences with their service. However, I recently received some coupons in the mail and figured that this was a good opportunity to give them a second chance. I was wrong.
One of the coupons that I had was a "Buy one get one" for a burger. The coupon specifically said that the promotion would work with any burger of equal or lesser value. I was told by the cashier that it would only work with two of the same burgers. That is not what the coupon specified, but I did not want to argue with the worker and decided instead to purchase The MDC. This is a double patty burger.
I then waited for the burger and thought that would be the end of the trouble. When I received my burgers I left. When I arrived home, I opened the burger and found that what I had received was completely different than what I had ordered. I was quite upset to see that I had received 2 very small burgers. Not the double patty burgers that I wanted. It looks as though the cashier decided that ringing up a single burger was a better option than using the coupon. When I called the restaurant to ask what had happened, I was told that there is nothing that can be done.
Instead, I am left paying for a burger that is missing a whole patty, and lettuce and one of them didn't have cheese. I am very dissatisfied, and I am frustrated that I took time out of my day to give them a second chance.
The crew in the restaurant was completely disorganized. Nobody knew what was going on. I had trouble communicating with the cashier. The windows were covered in a bizarre film. The entire building was full of nasty-smelling smoke from the deep fryers. No of the staff wore anything to indicate that they worked for the company, in fact, one of them was wearing a shirt from a different restaurant, despite there not being one nearby.
Learn from my mistake, and take your...
Read moreWe used to go there years ago and the burgers were really good. We came back a few days ago and the experience wasn't as great. The guy that took our order was high as a kite and I had to repeat my order like 4 times cause he didn't get it. At the end he got it wrong and I told the girl who gave us our order that we were missing an extra fries. She looked at me like I was lying and I told her, again, that we were missing fries. She took the receipt order out of the trash can with the same gloves that she was handling the food and showed us. I approached the cashier and told him that we were missing extra fries and he says my bad don't worry about it you'll get it and another man said the same. He was next to him. The girl was making weird faces since the beginning. She got mad that we were right. She didn't changed her gloves after reaching out for the ticket in the trashcan. She gave us the fries and we left. We ate outside the car because we were uncomfortable. The bun smelled and tasted like old house. Like something you put away for a long time. The burger was flavorless. The only flavor was the salt of the bacon. The fries were hot but not good at all and extra salty. In n out is the way to go tbh. I don't care for the wait. They never disappoint. My mom got sick that day for eating that burger. She was dizzy all night till 4 am and couldn't sleep. She threw up a couple times. This is not funny and this place needs to do something about it. An inspection is...
Read moreMy wife and I dropped in a while ago for the first time. We were immediately greeted by a kind, hospitable, and warm gentleman by the name of Jeff Hodges. He’s the manager there. We “talked story” and felt immediately like we were honored guests at his own home, like we were long time friends. I noticed him multi tasking between keeping the kitchen moving and being the interface of southern hospitality, a great ambassador and representative of the business. We were impressed by his efficiency and effectiveness, it was like a kind, gentle version of Gordon Ramsey!! A true anomaly! His crew, you could tell, looked up to him and respected him and relied on his wisdom and servant-like leadership. He didn’t hang out in the office but got in there with them as part of the team!
Now the burger: it was quintessentially perfect! The beef was high quality, and beautifully flavored. As we devoured the burger, we looked at each other and multiple times commented how incredible the burger was. Art!
A restaurant is only as good as it’s leaders and I’m glad Jeff Hodges is at the Helm. I hope the owners understand the gem that he is for the business. Thank you for the ambiance, the humanity, and the excellency of that burger. You gained a...
