Looking to have a wonderful date night? Do you have a group that wants a nice treat after an event? Or maybe you need someone to cater your event with some spectacular desserts? The Penguin Bros will hook you up, and won't let you down. If you love cookies, ice cream, or both together, you can't go wrong. These gourmet ice cream sandwiches are made with Provo's very own Rockwell Ice Cream! Also, the fact that they have a drive thru is very convenient.
POSITIVES: To start, their ice cream is thick, creamy, and with a variety of innovative creations. Although cones aren't an option, you may eat your ice cream 'sandwich-style' (between various cookies), in a bowl, or the pizookie method (cookie in a small tin, topped with the ice cream). They have 2 sizes of sandwich, the lil bro and the big bro (for a dollar more, we went with the big bro). Also, they had wonderful servers who were friendly, polite, and very helpful in letting us sample all their exciting flavors. They were gracious enough to serve our sandwich in a bowl, as it got drippy in the heat. The decor is quite cozy. The walls were decked out in nerdy pictures/posters from famous movies, but cleverly photoshopping their cookie sandwiches in the scene. While the bathroom was small and shabby, my (pregnant) wife was certainly grateful they even had one. The prices were fair for the quality and amount you get.
NEGATIVES: they aren't able to print receipts. I kind of regret getting the muddy buddy flavored ice cream, as it wasn't my favorite. It has chunks of peanut butter that seemed as large as the scoop of ice cream. And the Chex in it had an awkward texture that was both soggy and rough at the same time.
PRICE: about $5 per person.
RECOMMENDED: Cookie monster. S'mores. If you go the sandwich route, the classic inception cookies were wonderful (Chocolate Chip/Double Fudge Cookies, filled with cookie...
Read moreThese guys kinda blew it... My place of work hired Penguin Brothers to cater our âfresh air fridayâ a gathering of all employees, outside, to mingle and enjoy some ice cream.. so we thought.... Penguin brothers showed up an hour late. they had no truck, just a small cart and they set up in our tiny break room. The line went out of the break room and wrapped around the cubicles. so much for getting that fresh air... plus, we had set up 25 chairs outside earlier to prepare for this event. Ended up having to bring them back in because they seemed to just set up inside without communicating first. And after all that, they ran out of cookie and ice cream flavors fast.
I had no part in the planning of this event, but as an employee who was really looking forward to some ice cream outside, penguin brothers blew it. I hope the company I work for didnât pay top dollar...
Read moreLOVE. THIS. PLAAAAACE! Seriously do not understand any review lower than a 5 star. I discovered this place with my friend this week and came back four days later. Macaroon ice cream sandwich? YES. They have Lavender honeycomb, biscoff, fruity pebbles and cookies and cream flavors. Ice cream? DUH. A handful of flavors to choose from. Build your own ice cream sandwiches by choosing your cookie preference (with a GF chocolate option) and choose the ice cream. My favorite is the Pazookie. I'll never order anything else, I don't think. Sooooo sinfully delicious. I ordered the Luigi's Mansion flavor (double chocolate cookie with mint cookie ice cream) and will knock your effing socks off. So good. My family got chocolate chip pazookies with other ice cream and they liked theirs. The fruity pebbles ice cream flavor was interesting and good! I also ordered the lavender honeycomb macaroon and it was interesting! Definitely worth a try. I'll be back....A LOT. Cutest place and I'm SO GLAD it's so hard to find...a true diamond in the rough local...
