So this location is kinda cool. There is an outdoor area out back that overlooks hunt highway and ellsworth intersection. Our visit was on 10/9 730pm dine in. I am not a picky person and don't write bad reviews as this could be a franchise and we're all trying to get by. So my 4* is actually a 3*.I hope the management reads this as this could save their business. Staff was good and bad. We're still unfamiliar with their choices and location of items on the menu. We ordered the 2 meat special. The meat man seemed irritated that we didn't know exactly what we wanted as we're looking over the menu but didn't provide guidance as to say " our choices are over here" etc. Being helpful or friendly can still be communicated through a mask. You are the first point of contact, lighten up or assist obviously new customers. The sides girl was great energetic and friendly. There was some miscommunication and we all laughed and joked. The checkout guy was tepid water. Hey maybe I caught a bad day. Now here is the important part that got my thinking this morning about my experience that I hope management would read to prevent people from getting sick. The meat was not up to temperature. Every bbq place I've ever been to the meats are hot. There was enough business coming through to keep turnover fresh so I was baffled to get meat at around a warm 100 degrees not a hot 160 to prevent food borne illness. I wondered how long the brisket and pork sat out to get that cold. I wondered how cold the items would be when delivered since there were a lot of delivery pickups. We got to eating our meal pretty quickly so it wasn't sitting long at all maybe 2 mins tops to get a pop and walk to our table. My fault for not saying anything at the time but as I said I'm not picky. Didn't want to waste food getting another order or increase their costs for a loss. The beans didn't seem particularly hot either. Waffle fries were hot. The bbq itself was weak on the smoke profile and not sure how that can be. Again maybe a bad day...I will edit this if management...
Read moreLets start with he positive. The food is always good. The service on the other hand is the pits. Specifically the manager (and I use that term loosely) Micheal. When they rang up my food I questioned the price because I had a free sandwich coupon, but it came out to be almost the same price I usually pay. I come to this location once a week EVERY WEEK, to the point where the girl who works there (who is always nice) knows what I'm going to order even before I do. Her and this other kid were trying to figure the pricing and I got to the point where I didn't even care anymore, and said whatever it is, just ring it up and I'm good. The kid though he figured it out and the price went down $5.00, I was like great, lets get this done so I can leave. I mean I was willing to pay the higher price. That's when the manager Michael got involved.
When he got done it was actually higher than the first amount. When I questioned him he started to talk to me very rude and condescending. That's when I lost it and just said do what you need to do so I can leave. He still kept talking down to me. Finally he rang it up so I could leave. I asked for the managers name and that's when I found out he was a manager. I then asked for his bosses name and he started to give me the run around, but finally gave me her name. Finally paid and left.Got to my car and realized I didn't have a receipt. I do the points because I go every week. When I went back in to get the receipt, the lady at the register didn't know how to reprint it and asked him how to do it. Instead of telling her how to do it, he said he would but I would have to wait. He actually made me stand there and wait another 5 minutes before he came over to push the three buttons he could have told her to push in order for me to get me receipt. After going in there every week for the last 6 months, I'm done. I'm sure another place is going to like the...
Read moreBeen a while since I've written a detailed review. This experience definitely warrants a review based on my poor experience. To start Dickeys has discontinued both items that I've previously ordered and enjoyed. Not this locations fault but thought I'd mention it in the event someone hasn't been to Dickeys in a while. You might want to check if they still sell your favorites. I ordered the one meat plate that came with one meat of choice, and 2 sides. I chose sliced brisket, fries. And coleslaw. The "Pit Boss" made a half hearted attempt at small talk but other than that the atmosphere was dull. The food was okay but I walked out of this restaurant hungry after spending almost $22 for the one plate and a drink. I am thoroughly unimpressed and Dickey should be embarrassed to say he is from Texas and letting his chain stores let a grown man out the door hungry after spending $22. If it's the fault of this particular location, shame on them and I will not be back...
I also added a photo of what I received (yes I took a bite of one fry as I sat down) versus what the plate looks like on the advertisement.
As an answer to the "owner" that responded to my review... after I wrote my review I scrolled through your previous reviews. I find that you don't actually take these reviews seriously as there were more than one recent reviews with complaints about portion size. So.. you ought to be ashamed of yourself for offering meager service, and continuing to serve customers less than what they've paid for. Shame shame shame on you,... I can eat a steak dinner down the street from you at a popular sit down restaurant and be served for the same price you charge for what amounts to a child's portion.
Stay away from this location is my final opinion, there are far better options with happy employees that serve what you've paid...
