Chex Grill & Wings — Restaurant in Raleigh

Going here was kind of a surreal, overall negative experience.

The atmosphere was strange. Stock footage of highways is playing on their TVs with extremely loud, generic pop music playing over the speakers. White tables are kind of a weird choice for a place that serves messy finger food.

The service was... okay? The cashier stared at me blankly while I ordered, and then went around to different tables trying to figure out who the food belonged to when it came out. The restaurant wasn't busy, and I was the only person without food, so I feel like it should've been pretty obvious that the order was mine?

The chicken itself was dry and stringy. I ordered the raspberry hot sauce, though, which was pretty good on its own. They gave me a LOT of fries, which I appreciated. Overall, though, I didn't feel like the chicken itself was very good value.

I also noticed that this place was 1) extremely new and 2) had a lot of positive reviews. Upon further inspection, at least some of these reviews don't seem to be genuine—a lot of them mention the exact same thing (excellent service, the strawberry hot wings) and are from new accounts with no other reviews. Chex Grill in Hillsborough just set the bar high with an absolutely incredible grand opening! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was full of energy, excitement, and the irresistible aroma of freshly grilled perfection.

Let’s talk about the food—because wow, they delivered! The wings were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in some of the most flavorful sauces I’ve ever had. Every bite was packed with bold, mouthwatering goodness. The burgers? Absolutely top-tier. Fresh, juicy, and loaded with all the right toppings, making every bite better than the last. And the fries? Perfectly crispy, golden, and seasoned just right.

The service was just as impressive as the food. Even with a packed house on their first day, the team handled everything smoothly, making sure every customer felt welcome and taken care of. You could tell they were excited to be there and proud of what they were serving—and...

We recently discovered Chex Grill & Wings in Raleigh through a Google search and decided to give it a try.

The experience started off on a positive note, thanks to the exceptional service from the lady at the register. She was genuinely welcoming and even offered us two samples of their chicken wings with different sauces, which we appreciated.

However, the chicken tenders fell short of our expectations. The crust was unusually thick and hard, making them anything but tender, and we found them difficult to enjoy. Despite politely sharing our feedback with the staff at the counter (these two individuals were different than the lady we had initially met), the response didn't fully address our concerns.

That said, I appreciate the availability of another halal dining option in the area, and remain open to giving them a second chance to explore...
