I recently dined at Lime and Lemon Restaurant in Raleigh and had a mixed experience with the food. However, the exceptional service and pleasant ambience made up for it to some extent. Here's my detailed review:

The Mango Lassi was delightful, with a good quantity and consistency. It was definitely worth the price. I thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing taste and smooth texture of the lassi.

The Mocktail Lime & Jal Jeera drink was a perfect blend of lime soda and cumin seed flavors. The mixture was well-balanced, creating a refreshing and unique beverage. It was a great choice for those looking for a non-alcoholic option.

Moving on to the appetizers, we ordered the Knockout Chicken. Initially, it seemed a bit underseasoned, but once we added some salt to suit our taste, it turned out to be pretty good. The chicken was tender, and the flavors were satisfying after the adjustment.

For the main course, we opted for the Karaikudi Chicken. Unfortunately, it wasn't as spicy as we expected, and it didn't exactly resemble an authentic Karaikudi chicken dish. It felt more like a home-style chicken preparation with a hint of Karaikudi masala. While it was enjoyable, it didn't meet our expectations in terms of authenticity.

The Butter Naan, although tasty, felt overpriced for a single piece. Additionally, it was disappointing that there was no butter served with the butter naan. It would have enhanced the flavor and made it a more satisfying accompaniment to the main course.

Despite the mixed reviews on the food, I would like to highlight the exceptional service we received throughout our visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt in addressing our needs. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Furthermore, the ambience of the restaurant is truly inviting. The interior decor and lighting create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal or special occasion.

In conclusion, Lime and Lemon Restaurant in Raleigh offers a mixed dining experience. While the Mango Lassi and Mocktail Lime & Jal Jeera drink were enjoyable, some dishes like the Karaikudi Chicken lacked the expected level of spice and authenticity. The Butter Naan was tasty but overpriced for one piece, and there was no butter served with it. However, the exceptional service and inviting ambience add value to the overall dining experience. I would rate it 4 stars considering the positives...

UPDATED 02 January 2025: Another great meal/experience at Line + Lemon! Today I got the veg biryani and it was delicious, nice level of heat with it.

UPDATED November 10, 2022: Every time I visit I like Like + Lemon even more! Food is off great quality and flavor. Staff is awesome. Always great experience!

UPDATED August 09, 2022: Again, excellent food and amazing service. I highly recommend trying Lime & Lemon if you haven't already. It will quickly become your favorite!

Lime & Lemon just became our favorite Indian restaurant.

From the moment we walked in the door until we left, our whole dining experience was exquisite! As we walked in we were greeted and immediately seated. As we were walking to our table I noticed how neatly everything was laid out. Tables with plates, napkins, glasses, water all perfectly placed.

Attention to detail is noted not only on the decor but the food as well.

We got the Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Korma. The presentation of the dishes when they arrived was only the beginning of a great meal. The depth of flavor in each of the dishes is amazing! Easily the best Indian cuisine I've eaten. Make note, the food may arrive slightly spicier/hotter than you expect. For me, it was the perfect level of heat. For others, who wanted no heat, it came out hotter than they wanted.

The staff goes out of their way to make sure your dining experience is of the highest quality. From enduring your food is prepared as you expected to topping off your water. I have to take a minute to talk about the water, bottled water. Glass bottled water. To me, this showed the detail and quality of the dining experience they want you to have while you're here.

Finally, make sure you save room for dessert! We got the Gulab Jamun. Again, great - hot and tasty. We also got treated to a watermelon ice cream dessert. This was amazing, from the presentation to the flavor. It looked just like a slice of watermelon and we couldn't wait to taste it. Wow! The flavor was so good and refreshing, I felt like I was eating watermelon.

I can't...

We go here very often and mostly come out satisfied. The quality of the food has been inconsistent but some dishes are still worth mentioning. For the appetizers chicken sukka and lamb chops are a great choice, could be heavy on spices but has very rich flavors, but are more on the spicier side so request spice levels as per preference, paneer sukka if you are vegetarian- similar masala is used in the chicken, and also try their baby corn pepper fry - loved these flavors. I also like their chicken lollipop dish but did not order it this time. For the main course we always pick Dal makhani. Their mango lime chicken has some sweet and spicy flavors and can be a good tropical entree. We also ordered egg curry which is a very standard curry and the taste was also mediocre. I would order chettinad curry if I want to eat something more spicy and Navratna Korma is absolutely delicious for the milder curry cravings. They do have some special biryanis that are authentic to the southern parts of India and must certainly give it one try. Do not order cahaptis here as they tend to serve frozen chapatis but the naans are good so I’d recommend that. They serve wine and also have a good cocktails menu. We enjoyed their jaljeera soda this time as we were trying to stay sober this particular night. Parking can be messy. Their parking lots fill up too soon. You may have to do street side parking or in the NC State deck (free on weekends) I would definitely visit again. The staff is very kind and friendly.
