I've had worse ramen in the RTP area but I wish their ramen selection was a bit bigger. Pricing was just ok. They also don't have green tea (or any hot tea) or plum wine. Having non-alcoholic, non-soda beverages seems like a missed opportunity especially considering that nothing pairs better with hand rolls and ramen than quality sencha. Even a giant batch of barley tea would have been welcomed (and relatively cheap/easy to make in large amounts). Make a giant batch of barley tea, chill it, and serve it in the same containers you serve your water as a complementary beverage for people to try then once people in NC learn that it is amazing charge $2 a bottle and make a killing. If people want it hot just take the same batch tea and 50/50 it with hot water. You could even cold brew the green tea (so you don't burn or over brew it or have to make it to order) and serve it...
Read moreWe took a walking tour downtown on a very cold night and decided a hot bowl of ramen would be the perfect way to warm up. I really can't say enough about how perfect my bowl of spicy tan tan ramen was. It was warm, spicy, rich and kept me happily sipping while eating perfectly textured noodles, melt in your mouth pork belly and the best jammy egg I've had in a bowl of ramen yet. I absolutely can't wait to go back, that bowl will live rent free in my mind for a long time to come. The service was friendly and they took the time to answer our questions about sake. I don't know if they take reservations, we lucked out and took a door immediately at the bar (good vantage point to watch sushi hand rolls being made) but it's a small restaurant, so if recommended checking for reservations or go early. You won't be sorry you...
Read moreSo happy that we have another option for sushi lovers in Raleigh! They offer the hand roll experience which i love ❤️ i sat at the bar and ordered 2 hand rolls - 1 toro and 1 scallop. The chef served it on the plate right in front of me and after i finished the first one, he started making the 2nd hand roll. I loved the scallop hand roll better than the toro. I feel like usually the toro just melts in your mouth but i didn’t quite have that experience today (but it’s still good 👍🏻) the tempura enoki is good with some sweet and savory sauce at the bottom of the bowl. The cripsy rice with salmon is also great - the rice is crispy with a little kicks of spice from the spicy mayo. The service is also great as the server, Brian, who makes sure to refill drinks, check on the foods etc. I’ll def come back to try their ramen...
