My boyfriend brought me yesterday morning for breakfast and it was the most wonderful food, and honestly... the best coffee I’ve ever had.
This morning I came back, alone. The little man who probably owns the restaurant and runs the cash register was amazingly rude and actually tried to talk me into not ordering. He would not let me finish my order and turned and walked away from me and then told me to move out of the way… Still only having half my order but already have taken it to the kitchen. I don’t know if it’s because he’s under a lot of stress or he just perceived me as an unfavorable customer. Regardless, I was very disappointed because as I started the story and the food was wonderful. Today, after I was dismissed walk to my car and canceled my order. Even the greatest food is not worth being treated with...
Read moreI stepped into this little furnace of a restaurant on a Saturday afternoon (3/7/2015) and tried to order two tacos. I asked the man behind the counter if I could get lettuce and tomato, since the tacos only came with cilantro and pico de gallo. He spent a full 30 seconds doodling on the corner of his order ticket pad before he would look at me and respond. When he did? He told me he was sorry the tacos didn't come that way. I said to him that this seemed a small accommodation to risk losing a customer. I should have taken the cues from the two customers who left without ordering ahead of me. Here's the lesson, Dear El Paseo, even if you have to pass on an upcharge, it is good for business to give customers what they request. I will never know how good (or bad) your food is because you made it impossible for me to eat at your establishment. Tacos Y Mariscos Vallarta is right down the street, and they give both good food and good customer service. If this is how you treat the people who could keep you in business, you can count on more of us walking out on your poor service.

Read moreI've visited this restaurant a few times, and my experiences have been okay. However, as a small business owner myself, I was quite surprised when I asked for a glass of water and was only offered bottled water. I inquired if they didn't serve water in a cup with ice, to which the waitress replied that they only offer bottled water to customers. I typically enjoy having water with my breakfast along with ordering coffee and other drinks for our table.
Interestingly, I noticed that other tables were served cups of water. When did restaurants become so desperate for money that they don't even offer a complimentary cup of water to their paying customers and instead try to push them to buy bottled water?
I find this practice to be disappointing. Therefore, I have decided not to return to eat here. It's a terrible practice, and they should seriously consider changing it.
