Let's start with the good. The score is a 97 and it only took 30 minutes to be seated which isn't bad for a party of 6 on a Sunday morning. Now the bad. Brittani was our server and clearly she was overwhelmed. First we ordered our drinks. When they arrived, one overflowed because it was filled to the brim. I immediately asked for napkins showing her the mess. She never returned with ther napkins and the spill was getting dangerously close to the edge of the table where someone was sitting. I ended up asking the guy clearing tables if he would mind getting them. He was very accommodating and got them immediately. Brittani and another lady later brought our food. Three of us ordered the same burger and fries. 1 ordered a different burger. He got the same burger as the other three. Luckily he checked it while it was there because not only was it the wrong burger, it had what looked like a beetle crawling IN it. My meal was the only one that required utensils. We didn't have any on the table when the food arrived. After waiting a bit, Brittani brought us a dirty mug (with pink lipstick stains) full of wet utensils with hair on them. At this point, I'm annoyed because my food is getting cold. I get up to find Brittani. I couldn't find her, but saw the lady who helped her bring the food. I showed her the mug and she immediately noticed the hair. She got Brittani for me. I showed her and told her we're having too many issues and asked her to bring us new ones. Then I returned to my table. A couple of minutes later, the other lady asked if I wanted plastic utensils. Perfect solution. She brought them immediately while Brittani took some time to return with another set of utensils. Back to the beetle filled burger. He still hadn't received his replacement meal. Many of us finished our meal or was at least close to it before he got his replacement burger, which was still incorrect. We never saw Brittani again at our table while we were eating. We were all finished eating for at least 10 minutes before Brittani brought us our check. I took it to the front to pay, not realizing the servers now take the payment. Interestingly enough, paying was the quickest turnaround for the day. There was no discount offered for all of the mistakes or beetles, but I didn't ask for it either. I was just ready to go. I struggled with what tip to give her. I normally tip at least 20%, but I reduced it to 15% because of...
Read moreI've heard IHop has good burgers and I have one a half mile from my house. I went there last night and now I remember why it's been a long time since I've eaten there. I'm dining alone, sitting on one side of a booth. To begin, the waitress stood by the table when I was seated, not really any time to read the menu. When she brought my water she put it on the very edge of the table on the opposite side from where I was sitting, not even in arms reach. I guess she was very busy. There were 2 other women in the entire restaurant, seated at the table behind me. Just before I left, another man came in. I ordered a hamburger with lettuce and tomato and my side was hash browns. You are not given a ticket to pay. You go to the register and they tell you what you owe, sight unseen, no itemized receipt, it's on a screen on a hand held device. She told me the amount, $14.06, and asked if I wanted to leave a tip. For some stupid reason I said 18%. That was $2.53. She entered that and turned the device around for me to sign, which I did. Whatever she did next messed up her entry and she wanted me to sign again. I refused. Then she called someone to help. Now they're wanting me to sign again and the total has doubled to over $32.00. I once again said I'm not signing that. The waitress looks at me and says "Why, you already said an $18.00 tip". I repeated I'm not signing that. The other person who came to help finally rang it up on the register and had me sign. My mediocre meal was $12 99 + tax of $1.07 and 18% tip of $2.50 for a total of $16.56. Obviously I won't be going back. I get a delicious hamburger with lettuce and tomato and fries across the street at Cook-Out for $7.01. My Bad. I will say this, the restaurant appeared to be very clean. It's a shame it was such a bad experience. It's the closest restaurant to my house and I eat out a lot rather than...
Read moreWhen me and my significant other had arrived the restaurant appeared slow and were told we could be sat. We were seated at the wrong table and had been asked to move but the host stood still waiting for the other host attention to see where the correct table was (i’ve been a host before so I do understand learning sections can take time) But we were greeted by our waitress immediately as well as had our order taken. Seemed off to an okay start, nothing bad. About 20-30 mins had passed and the restaurant seemed to fill up but our food wasn’t out and our waitress said it should be out shortly. I have worked in the restaurant industry myself so I tend to try and be as patient as possible as well as my significant other. About another 30-40 mins pass and still no food, at this point the waitress comes over to our table and her other table (who had arrived shortly after us and had their order taken but no food either) and said “Idk where you’re food is but it’ll be out when it’s out” and shrugged before walking off. Not only was the wait time unacceptable so was the waitress’ attitude towards the situation. To shrug at the fact that none of your tables have received their food speaks volume! Me and my significant other were discussing the situation when we finally decided it wasn’t worth it and we should leave after seeing a 20 top being sat (when the restaurant was already packed but barely anyone had their food) and the sanitation rating was disgustingly low. We had done some research on why this place had received this rating and the biggest thing I can say is: roaches. I suggest going the IHOP in knightdale since THIS location is unsanitary and understaffed, and the staff that does work there is failing at basic...
