Regarding food: I really wanted to like this place but I chose it because of the salads, which sound wonderful. We went on a Sunday, and they had pulled the lunch page out of the sleeve in the menu. Only breakfast on the weekends, so a big disappointment right off the bat. If I’d known that, I would’ve chosen another restaurant. I’m gluten free and try to stay low carb, which is difficult with only a breakfast menu featuring pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, etc. I tried to make the best of it by ordering the Dawn phenomenon, leave off the sourdough. It was overall too salty. The house marinated tomatoes were absolutely delicious though. Our table also got the monte cristo sandwich, which was soggy from the French toast and the overbearing cinnamon flavor in the house jam was not a good pairing with the turkey. The gf biscuit and gravy was not as good as it is at the farmers market when we’ve had it previously; the biscuit was hard, dry and mealy. Unfortunately each dish fell a little short, and since there were issues with all 3, it compounded to make the food disappointing.
Regarding service: We were told “Hope you’re not in a hurry, because I’m not” by the person who seated us. We waited ten minutes before someone came over to ask us if we wanted water. Not just go ahead and bring us water, but ask if we wanted any. A different person came several minutes later to take our food order, came back some minutes later to say she’d forgotten what one of us ordered, and then we never saw her again. A third person brought us someone else’s food about 30 minutes after we ordered, figured out it did not belong to us, and then took it to the proper table. Then they brought our food about 40 minutes after we ordered it. It took 55 minutes from being sat down to receiving our food. It seemed disorganized, as we saw a few other times food wandering around and them not knowing which table it should be delivered to.
I won’t be back to this restaurant, and unfortunately would not recommend it to others based on my experience today with slow disjointed service, and so-so food. I had high hopes based on Google and social media reviews, but the cafe fell...
Read moreI’ve had lemon tree both in person and to go. The in person experience was great even with having to wait for a table for a bit. The to go has been complete opposite. The first time we got a to go we asked for the stuffed strawberry stuffed french toast to have all of the toppings on the side as we didn’t want it soggy. They said no problem. One came out with everything on top. One came out with the stuff on the side. The waitress told me “they didn’t see the note for everything on the side so they only did one like that”. No sorry. No offer to remake. Nothing. Rubbed me the wrong way but we went back after this because we wanted to give them another try. Today I go in for a to go, order 4?cinnamon rolls and 2 cookies and ask if they have the southern bell stuffed french toast. I’m told yes and that they only have enough ingredients for 2 more. I order 1 to go and ask for everything on the side. I wait over 30 minutes after being quoted 10. Still, not upset about it. I know it’s a busy place. I look into my bag and see there is no peach jam topping, a main ingredient of this french toast. I ask for some, only to be told that they don’t have any and that they’ve been out for three days. I ask them why I wasn’t told that when I placed the order, they have no answer. The girl tells me “it still tastes pretty peachy” and walks away. The boy at the counter asks me if I want it and I’m like no I don’t want to pay for something that doesn’t have all of the ingredients. Their response was okay we will take it out of the bag then. I had just waited 30 minutes to get food that didn’t have all of the ingredients and wasn’t offered a cheaper price, nothing. No apology. It really is important to treat customers like their time and money matters. Especially when we’ve been back after mess ups and no apology. I’ve brought several friends here to eat and recommended to family and sadly that won’t be...
Read moreI think the prices are exorbitant for the small servings you get. Couple that with the fact that the food was not good at all. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with sausage and egg. I ordered an egg over medium. I got it over easy. The sausage was like trying to chew rubber. And I'm not kidding nor am I exaggerating. The biscuit was so hard you couldn't cut it with a fork. And it was a weird flavored biscuit. I really can't describe it but it's not what one would expect with biscuits and gravy. The gravy itself was yellowish. It was not sausage gravy which should be on biscuits and gravy. It tasted like it had sage in it. Also very weird tasting. I absolutely couldn't eat it. I ordered coffee, as did my companion and we flagged the server down over and over only to have her ignore us and we never did get coffee refills. My companion ordered French toast and said that it was not cooked all the way through and some spots on it were soggy. We also had to try to flag down our server to pay our checks. I'm literally waving in the air over and over again trying to get her attention. I'm calling out to her. Nothing!!!! I finally started to go up to the counter and then she finally realized I was trying to get her attention. I told her we were doing separate checks but she put it all on one check. So I gave her cash and told her to take out $14.00 for mine and that my companion would pay the rest with her credit card. She stood at the register for at least 10 minutes with the help of two other people and for a long time they couldn't figure out how to do it. They did finally get it. They had a pan of cinnamon rolls that were baked and sitting open in the entryway. They weren't frosted yet; they were just in a pan. Not a very sanitary way to have them out. Anybody walking in or out of the building could have put their hands on them. I think that was the thing that grossed me...
