What a beautiful addition to Victoria Gardens’ restaurant scene.
I just found out yesterday from my sister about The Cut - Rancho Cucamonga’s soft opening and we came out to try their Weekend Brunch Menu this Sunday morning. We are fans of The Cut burgers in Irvine and so we had to give them a try.
LOCATION The Cut is located in the Victoria Gardens shopping center across from H&M - near the Nike and Lululemon corner stores.
PARKING There are plenty of parking around Victoria Gardens but will require some walking. There are metered, street/store-front, and free parking throughout this shopping center.
INTERIOR / AMBIANCE I love the simple design here but I especially like the open space. The high-vaulted ceiling creates a bigger space for what would be a small restaurant. The floor space seems bigger here than the Irvine location. I like that this restaurant is positioned so as not to get direct sunlight but still have a lot of natural light coming in. This is a definite plus in my book!
SEATING They have indoor and outdoor (patio) dining available and the hostess gave us the option of where we preferred to to sit. They have tables that can easily connect to accommodate 2 guests or more and they also have booths along the perimeter of the restaurant.
FOOD / DRINKS Prior to my arrival, I had my heart set on ordering one of their beloved burgers. However, after discovering that they had a complete different menu (with a few of the classic items from the Irvine location), I knew I had to try something different. We were offered their Weekend Brunch Menu and here’s what we ordered: Chicken & Waffles - Excellent! The chicken breast was perfectly breaded and crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside. It came with a side of maple syrup but had a stickier sauce reminiscent of a sticky toffee/caramel-like texture. Truffle & Brie Burger - Just like The Cut - Irvine location’s classic burger, this was was unctuous and rich, and full of umami. Black Truffle Mac & Cheese - Get it! It’s so good! We shared this and we all cleaned up the little cast iron it came in! Haha Chocolate Chip Pancakes - This was a bit pricey for 2 pancakes; however, it tasted a bite and it was actually surprisingly good! Sweet & Spicy Burger - I didn’t get a picture of this but my brother-in-law enjoyed the burger! Garlic Confit Hand-Cut Fries - We love a lot of garlic and this delivered! Mimosa - Free cocktail during Soft Opening! This was thoroughly enjoyed! Bloody Mary - Free cocktail during Soft Opening! Score!
SERVICE Our hostess, Lex, also our server and she was great! By the way, I loved the staff uniform here. Black aprons - totally fits the restaurant’s trendy vibe!
Overall, I’m so happy to see The Cut in the Inland Empire. Everyone enjoyed the food and we will most likely be back! I’d love to come back to check out and try their regular...
Read moreWe had the best meal of our lives here, today! We were looking for a restaurant that we could go to while our daughter was out of town and we are grateful we found The Cut. The atmosphere, amazing staff (shout out to Luciano), and clever menu selection that delivers on flavor left us wanting to come back regularly. The Blueberry Lavender Lemonade was a perfect start to accompany our Fried Burrata appetizer. The lemonade had edible glitter and was the perfect balance between sweet and tart. There were so many great options on the menu that we asked for recommendations for appetizers, the main course, and dessert. Luciano did a great job listening to what we were interested in and suggesting options that were unique to The Cut. He knew the menu and tastes well, and provided great insights that helped us decide, and left us impressed. Looking back on our experience, we realize that we couldn't have gone wrong with anything we selected, but Luciano helped us feel comfortable with our decisions. The Fried Burrata appetizer was packed with flavor and was unlike anything we've tasted before, very Italian inspired. We will likely get that appetizer every time we come! For our main meal we shared the Truffle & Brie Burger (to die for) with the most juicy meat, bun toasted to perfection, and the cheese and pickled onions paired perfectly together. This would be my go-to for a burger here, but next time I might try another just to see what other menu items surprise me. We also shared the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. This was my husband's favorite. The way the chicken was cooked with the corn, Swiss chard, and cream sauce combination was so flavorful! We cleaned our plates and wanted to lick the sauces off the plate! Next time we want to try the scallops, as they look amazing. Finally, we ended our time with two desserts to share, because we couldn't get enough of these fantastic flavors. We had the Sticky Date Pudding (a family recipe they incorporated into the menu) and the Warm Butter Cake. These did not disappoint!!! The Warm Butter Cake had a nice crisp to the outside, it was delicate and delicious. The Sticky Date Pudding surprised us, and I couldn't stop eating it. You can taste the inspiration of the pudding, but it was actually in cake form, which was perfect. The nuts, gelato, and butterscotch left us in food heaven. They have such a nice ambiance to the restaurant and the staff made you feel like family. I always have a tough time recommending restaurants when friends and family ask where they should go in our town. This is the first place I would recommend to friends, family, and neighbors without hesitation. If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out. Go and enjoy! We will be back again as soon as we are able! Thanks, The Cut! You have...
Read moreWe came during its soft opening. Based in Victoria Gardens, we were attracted by its ambience while walking by. It has both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar area. Parking is easy as there's plenty of parking garages as well as parking lots and street parking.
All the appetizers on the menu sounded delicious and we went with the bone marrow toast. While it tasted like most others we've had, the toast with the caramelized onions and the pickled onions added a different taste combination which was pleasant.
My wife got the banh mi, which had excellent meat and good amount of vegetables. I got The Cut burger, which is their 60-day dry aged rib eye patty with 2-year aged white cheddar. This I would definitely say was the star of the meal. Not only could you taste the meat quality, but also the juiciness of the burger was apparent. And yet, I think the best part of the burger might have been the white cheddar. Not only did the cheese enhance the funk of the dry aged burger but if you're lucky you also got a little bit of the cheese lace from the flat top. It's not cheap ($40) but well worth its price.
We ended our meal with a delightful sticky date pudding, which was not too sweet and was quite delicious. They do not have their liqueur license yet but given the quality of their mocktails I have a feeling their drinks are going to be high quality. Overall, a very nice restaurant that we will definitely come...
