Coney Waffle, Ice Cream and Sweet Shop — Restaurant in Red Bank

I’ve been wanting to try Coney Waffles for so long after seeing so many Instagram pictures of the waffle and ice cream. I was thinking I was going to get a fresh made hot waffle topped with ice cream! After all the name of the place is Coney Waffles you would think the waffles would be delicious! Sad to say the waffles were the worst part! I ordered the brownie waffle topped with chocolate peanut butter, vanilla with cookie dough and brownies, and Cinnabon ice cream. I asked for it to be topped with Reese’s cups, but the man behind behind the counter said he was was out of them because he used them to make a cake. I thought that was weird to be out of Reese’s cups since on the Coney Waffles instagram page shows tons of pictures with them used for crazy shakes and topped on most of the ice creams with waffles. The brownie waffle was so disappointing! It was not hot or fresh made. It was an imitation pre made artificial waffle! I’ll never order a waffle here again! If I would of known that I would of just ordered my ice cream in a cup! The ice cream isn’t home made it comes from Pennsylvania. Some of the flavors are still really good and some not so much. The Cinnabon flavor ice cream was DELICIOUS, and I’d definitely come back for that flavor! The chocolate peanut butter flavor ice cream was pretty good, but the vanilla with brownie and cookie dough wasn’t good at all! If you want to try it just go for the ice cream and skip the waffle! The ice cream quality is not very good for the prices they charge. I am an ice cream connoisseur and have gone to a million of ice cream shops. I was trying to help the girl out in how to put the ice cream on the cone (I use to work at an ice cream shop) as she was struggling. She told me very rudely that she got trained and knows how to scoop ice cream. She gave me not the proper amount and the cone was cracked all the way around. So her training went to death ears. Since the cone was broken ice cream was dripping everywhere and I could not eat it. So I ended up tossing it. A big waste of money! I'm very disappointed as I am a big supporter of local businesses and wanted to recommend this store to my friends. However I will never go back. Two ice creams were over 10! When I went to pay she told me matter of factly that she does not take cash and that I can use the atm that is conveniently located in the store. I had no choice as we already had our ice creams. The owner needs to be aware of the staffs rudeness...

RED BANK LOCATION - Tonight, there was ONLY one girl working I believe her name was Shannon. While the manager was nowhere in sight- in the back- this girl had to deal with over 30 people taking their orders, fulfilling their orders and ringing them up. One gentleman in line wanted to get back there and help her fulfill the orders or the register because it was a ridiculous amount of people the line. The line was out the door with only one person working.

I hope this is a lesson to the manager, especially on a holiday in the summer of how bad and his poor pre-planning to have only one person working and also to not be anywhere in sight to help. I would hire this girl in a minute.
