There’s pizza, and then there’s Sally Boy’s Pizza—where every slice is an art form, every bite a revelation. Nestled at 1 Broad Street, Red Bank, this newly transformed eatery doesn’t just serve pizza—it elevates it. The time and care poured into redesigning the space is evident in every glowing light, every polished surface. By day, it’s bright and inviting; by night, it shines like a beacon, calling all who crave a late-night masterpiece of dough, sauce, and cheese.
The first time there I had a slice of what they called "The White Lion", a thick and luscious white pie kissed with lemon zest. That little twist? A game-changer. It’s rich yet refreshing, indulgent yet light—a perfect paradox in pizza form. Last night, I tried a slice of their Buffalo Chicken pie, and let me tell you: this slice was a meal in itself. Spicy, tangy, cheesy perfection with a crust that holds its own.
What sets Sally Boy’s apart isn’t just the quality—it’s the dedication to tradition and innovation. They don’t just make pizza; they sculpt it with enduring respect. With multiple styles of pizza, two high-end Italian-imported ovens, and a commitment to crafting the best crust, the best sauce, the best everything, this isn’t just another pizza spot. This is a destination.
If you’re strolling through Red Bank, catching a glimpse of those golden, bubbling pies through the window, or just in need of a damn good slice, do yourself a favor: walk in, order up, and taste the difference.

Read moreI tried their dry rub wings with lemon pepper and it’s a tad overwhelming and dry, not juicy. Not the best. I prefer Burger 25 wings.
The rice balls are ok. Exterior crispness texture is lacking. Not a true arancini. Go to La Mondina for the best version.
What makes this place shine is their Jersey style cheesesteak. Definitely the best in this area compared to Brennans dry version or Olivia’s and Chiafullo with chopped meat.
The cheesesteak filling is plentiful with juicy sliced ribeye. It comes normally with mozzarella and provolone but I opted to substitute the provolone for Swiss and added jalepenos. I’m not a fan of salty cheese like provolone with no flavor.
If you desire a sauce, request a side of chipotle mayo. It’s reminiscent of a Taco Bell hot sauce heat, not a true chipotle flavor (smoked jalepeno). It’s as if you take a dab of Pace Picante salsa with some Taco Bell hot sauce and mix in mayo and you get this. This sauce normally comes with their cheesesteak egg rolls which my co workers love but I digress because the wrapper is not Lumpia/Vietnamese style but more like Chinese vegie egg roll style. Not my cup of tea.
For awesome Lumpia, filled with ground pork, go to Kamayan Grill in Neptune. Worth every penny. This is what an egg roll should taste like. Lol
My only complaint was the that the bread was soft and had no texture but I’m not surprised given this is the norm for Jersey’s own who seem to like...
Read moreDON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE. To begin, their prices are absolutely crazy, $8.50 for a “GIANT” slice of pizza. I’d actually be understanding of the price if the pizza was STELLAR, but this pizza was far from it. We got a round pie for $20, and a “LARGE” Fry for $9.50. Not sure what was large about the fries, as the serving was about 30-35 french fries. It actually seemed like a mistake with how empty the container was. Regardless, there is NO TASTE or FLAVOR to be found here at Sally Boy’s; From the dough/crust which was as tough as shoe leather and about as bland as what I’d imagine styrofoam tastes like, to somehow even the cheese. It’s flavorless.
This said, the ambiance of the place is nice! The decor of the restaurant is interesting and the garage door (what seem to be) windows are neat. Overall the place seems very clean!
The staff on the other hand, isn’t nearly as nice; Treating customer rudely, and even hanging up on me without even a “Goodbye”. Just your average “uppity” attitude. I suppose us customers should be begging them for the PRIVILEGE of buying an $8.50 slice of pizza.
Ultimately, boardwalk prices for a subpar slice of pizza, cooked in a “Ferrari Oven”, served in a tacky box with a Bill Murray quote under the lid. Wow.
This is a one and done. Don’t take my word for it though, try it for yourself.
I won’t be returning, but I do hope they can...
