I stopped going to Bakers over 15 years ago. The food content was shrinking, and the prices were getting higher. Now, keep in mind that this was when the family still owned it. I couldn't stand the napkins they used as they disintegrated at the drop of a wet substance.
Fast forward to January 1, 2025, and I am asked by a friend to go to Bakers. This particular one is preferred, over the one on the other side of town, due to issues some people had over there in the past. We go through drive-thru, and I succumb to ordering food since I didn't feel like driving. We order the same items, get out food in a timely manner, and I take my friend home.
The burritos were so small and tiny that they seemed like they were for a kids' meal. The drink was actually a full cup of ice with coke instead of the easy ice I asked for. The source of my issue was mixed in with the fries.
Yes, all of this reading you just went through to find out I had a hair in my fries. It was not my friends hair or my hair. So, I called and described the issue. At no time did the person I talk sound surprised or even immediately apologetic. It came across as a dismissive common issue, and the suggestion was to come back and get another "small fry."
My gas and time exceeded the cost of this solution. At the end of the conversation, I received the closing "I'm sorry." I can tell you this. I have received two gift cards (per single incident) from In N Out corporate at any time there had been an issue. They take customer service seriously, and my issues have always been the occasional and not specific to just one location.
What do I want from Bakers? Nothing, I stopped giving them business long ago. This experience confirms why I stopped eating Bakers and, more specifically, the lack of value when pricing against competing vendors.
Thank you, Bakers.
Note: I have a picture of the hair, should they want a...
Read moreThis use to be an Inland Empire staple. Now I can't eat there. Prices have gone way to far up while quality and quantity have gone down.
They changed everything about the place that makes it unique and all for worse. Cheaper fries, not toasting buns(really? how much cost was that?) Got a soggy burger and the bean and cheese was under seasoned and also under cooked. The tortilla was some store bought gummy trash. Chicken Quesadilla use to be a favorite but they switched to greasy chicken thigh that tastes like it is from a can instead of breast. Friends are telling me they changed their signature chicken sandwiches to some cheap patties.
Wait times have been horrendous. 30 min behind two cars? It is unrecognizable now. It should be called Talley''s (nephew that took over when Carol Baker passed in 2017) because this is not Neil and Carol's gift to the IE. Shame on the new owners. Really sad to see.
Hopefully Baker's can bounce back but as of right now I recommend a pass. Might as well go to DQ across the street or Jack in the box. Same quality they are dishing out but at least the price is right at...
Read moreLook, I have loved Bakers my entire life. They took away my favorite Barbacoa! Switched to pork which is NOT the same. They've downsized with the recession and the food is NOT what it once was before the pandemic. Burittos are visibly smaller. All beef burrito, we don't even order anymore because there are more onions added to the filling over beef. Quessadilla is NOT the same size or the same amount if cheese at all.
I understand companies were effected by the pandemic and now a recession. I'm just so bummed that this bakers has changed sooo much in just a short amount of time. The food is not worth the cost anymore.
Shakes are still fantastic but I would rather drive to a Freddy's now in the desert over going to Bakers.
Drive through has always been slower than other drive through, cause you were getting good food. Now, it's...
